There are many MANY people who absolutely HATED the Star Wars Prequels. There are several reasons behind it, but I would guess that the main reason people don't like them is because they are comparing them to the Original Trilogy.

In this post, I am going to go over some of the reasons why the prequels are so hated and try and explain why you shouldn't be so hard on it.

1. CGI

This is a classic example of comparing the Original Trilogy to the Prequels. Sure, the prequels might have been filmed A LOT in CGI.

However, that's what movies do these days. People tend to give these prequels a lot more hate for this than any other movie.

2. The "Mystery" of Star Wars Revealed!

A lot of people don't like the prequels because it revealed some of the things that they feel should have been left to the imagination.

That's what ANY movie adaption of a book also does, though. It reveals a lot of things that were previously only in your imagination. This is ONE PERSON'S (or a group of people's) interpretation of how Darth Vader started

I don't hear anyone blaming Star Wars: The Old Republic (Game) for revealing too much about the universe's past.

3. Jar Jar Binks

Jar Jar Binks is a character that I hear about all the time when the prequels come up, but I just can't understand the hate. Jar Jar made me laugh every time he came on screen. You could either laugh at how stupid he was or laugh at the way he talks, but he was funny.

Some people claim that he is over comical, but, in essence, he was an attempt to lighten up Star Wars a bit.

They do that today, even in "The Avengers" they put some silly little moments in there (some I wish they hadn't of put, because it made the situation less dark and gripping).

Now, maybe they don't have a character devoted to doing it, but they still do it.

4. Yoda

Some people, for whatever reason, prefer the cheesy puppet Yoda in the Original Trilogy to the awesome Yoda in the prequels. I don't understand it.

Yoda was the Jar Jar Binks of the Original Trilogy. I can't help but laugh at him when he enters in episode 5 (2). He is SO silly, stupid, and VERY hard to take seriously.

In the prequels they changed all that and now he is awesome! Especially his fight in episode 2 (5).

Don't get me wrong! Of course the prequels aren't perfect, but they're not as bad as people say they are.

What about you?

Did you like the prequels?

What did you like/dislike most?
