(Warning Spoilers Ahead!)

By now we have all seen Avengers: Age of Ultron, but little did we know an iconic scene from the film was meant to go a bit differently. The scene where Scarlet Witch alters Bruce Banners mind and eventually leads to the Hulk vs Hulkbuster scene originally had a slight change in Hulk's appearance. Hulk was supposed to be turned grey while being the Savage Hulk. This being based off of the Funko Savage Hulk figure, which led to much speculation as to whether Hulk would in fact be Grey in [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](tag:293035). Fans of the comics should also note that Hulk was originally grey in the comics, but it was very short lived to only a single issue. The video below confirms that Hulk was supposed to turn grey at some point during the film by the FX team.

It seems as if plans for a grey Hulk went out the window very late during production. There was a fair amount of grey Hulk merchandise going around that definitely led us to believe that we would see an iteration of a grey Hulk. In the video we learned that instead of going grey, they slightly altered Hulks eyes to make him seem more hypnotized while battling Iron Man. It would have been pretty cool to see a grey Hulk on screen. The Hulkbuster scene was definitely one of my favorite scenes from the film and a grey Savage Hulk would have added even more to the action. It is unclear as to why the grey Hulk was pulled from the final cut. Marvel possibly had a disagreement with director Joss Whedon as to what color Hulk should be during this scene and ultimately decided to not go in that direction. At the end of the day it is not much of a difference as to what color The Hulk was during this scene, although as a comic enthusiast it would have been a nice little Easter egg so to speak.
