With the Marvel's cinematic ventures growing at an incredible pace, it's no telling who may show up in the next Avengers movie or in the upcoming Netflix series. With that said, it would be nice to see more black women in compelling roles within their universe.

But if you're wondering just who these black women are in Marvel, look no further than here. (Quick Note: Most black heroines are mutants, which are owned by Fox)

Misty Knight

Misty is a staple in the Marvel universe. She is a total badass, with serious martial arts abilities coupled with high leveled detective skills. It's a given we will see her in the Marvel Netflix series, Iron Fist (due to a relationship with Danny Rand a.k.a Iron Fist). Oh, and she has a bionic arm which is awesome in so many ways.

Monica Rambeau

After she was exposed to extra-dimensional power, Monica became Captain Marvel and the first black woman to join the Avengers. Monica has changed her name and costume several times over the years, but that doesn't take away from the powerhouse she truly is. I hope to see Monica on the screen soon.

Queen Divine Justice

Chante Giovanni Brown isn't just your average girl from Chicago. She's the next heir to a tribe within Wakanda (the home of Black Panther). She's a skilled fighter and she even calmed down the Hulk with ease. Now that takes some major interpersonal skills.

Dora Milaje

These women are completely the s***! The Dora Milaje are a superior group of women selected to be the possible queen of Wakanda. They are top-notch warriors and personal bodyguards of the Black Panther. We may... No... We BETTER see these fierce fighters in the Black Panther film. It would be a shame if they excluded them.

Nakia was one of the Dora Milaje, but her delusional love for the Black Panther led her down a dark path. She was later given superhuman abilities by one of Black Panther's enemies and continues to be a huge thorn in his side. I would love to see her raise some Hell in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or in the upcoming Defenders.

Silhouette Chord is an interesting character. She's a descendant from a mystical cult and her powers come from an ancient power source called the "Well of All Things." She's considered a mutant, but Marvel can play around that. Silhouette has power over shadows and can tap into the Darkforce (which was featured in the 1st season of [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.](tag:722469)). I think it would be cool to see Silhouette in action.

Nekra is also a mutant, but again, we can bypass that. She has clashed with Carol Danvers, Spider-Woman, Daredevil, Black Widow, and Spider-Man. Her powers are super-strength enhanced by her violent emotions. She was a force to be reckoned with, until she was killed during the Chaos War storyline. However, she could come back in the MCU world.
