NBC is all set to make all episode of Aquarius available as soon as its first episode premieres on May 28.

Netflix Inc. is the biggest online streaming service provider in the world. The company provides its services in more than 50 countries throughout the world, having around 60 million subscribers. In a short span of time, it has managed to grow substantially in order to ‘cut the cords’ of viewers and provide a one stop solution to their entertainment demands. The entertainment offerings of the company are unmatchable and its catalogue is quite comprehensive. It aimed to become HBO at the start and now it is becoming more like traditional TV networks.

NBC recently announced its plans to own and produce original content. Hence, as the company is becoming more like traditional TV networks, they are also following the footsteps of the online streaming giant, Netflix. For instance, NBC that is aiming to copy the streaming giant by making Aquarius fully available to viewers to watch online once it makes premiere on May 28. The company is copying the strategy that the online giant used for TV shows, such as Orange is the New Black and Arrested Development. It is believed that after May 28, the entire series, which also features David Duchovny, will be available on, its application, and cable VOD platforms.

Sources report that NBC has been working to open this show only to a limited number of advertisers, so that viewers are not annoyed with numerous ads while watching online Movies. Furthermore, they are believed to be bombarded with fewer ads as compared to viewers that will be watching on cable TV. The company says, “the show will be available on, the network's app, and cable VOD services.”

Bob Greenblatt, the Chairman of NBC, has given no hints on the possibilities of whether the company will be adopting the same strategy for the upcoming shows or not. Mr. Greenblatt stated in an interview, “NBC was fully aware how audiences want to consume multiple episodes of new television series faster and at their own discretion.”

The company has specifically targeted binge watchers, as they are the ones who will be willing to spend full days and nights to watch the entire series at one go. Hence, the subscription numbers for such viewers on streaming services tend to rise in the coming times. However, it will not be wrong to say that Netflix is defining the future of watching television, whereas traditional TV networks still lack, as the online streaming companies are constantly working on cutting the cords.
