Can we talk freely about the ending of Avengers: Age of Ultron? If not, SPOILER WARNING, dear reader.

After the stinger at the end of Avengers 2, many people might have been scratching their head about Thanos, the Infinity Gauntlet and the implications for Thor 3. After all, wasn't the glove one of the treasured items in Odin's vault? Well, according to the all-knowing, all-powerful, Marvel wise-one Kevin Feige, that Infinity Gauntlet that Thanos picked up at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron wasn't the same glove that we saw under glass in Thor.

Have Infinity Gauntlet, Will Travel

Say what now? Well, according to an interview Feige did with Cinema Blend, there are in fact two different gloves in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and no, Thanos was not removing anything from Odin's vault in that mid-credits scene in Avengers 2. But this doesn't mean that Thor 3 won't be playing a huge factor - perhaps the biggest - in furthering the story of Thanos and the Infinity Stones.

It definitely sounds like there are two gloves and the little cameo of what certainly looks like an Infinity Gauntlet in Thor isn't something that Kevin Feige and the folks at Marvel are now wishing they never put in the movie. And yeah, it does make sense, unless you're Michael Jackson, that there would be two gloves. So, the glove as seen in Thor is a right-hander while the glove Thanos picks up at the end of Avengers 2 is the typical left-hander that Thanos is often seen fashionably sporting in the pages of the Marvel comic books. Now you know.

Infinity Stones - Collect Them All!

So what are we to make of this reveal? Captain America: Civil War is still expected to largely continue the Thanos-free story of the future of the new Avengers and what kind of lineup we'll see in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. Thor: Ragnarok is still looking like it will be the most important Phase 3 movie concerning the Infinity Stones and the next step in Thanos' plan. Though the wildcard of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 could definitely make some forward movement to this storyline as well.

But it should be expected that Thanos, having decided to put the Infinity Gauntlet glove on, would now go about collecting the Infinity Stones (or Infinity Gems, if you prefer) to adorn the glove and gain that world crushing power he so desires. What better place to start than with the stone that started it all - the Tesseract, or Space Stone, which is located in Odin's vault along with that other glove.

The other stones that we've seen so far are the Reality Stone (the Aether) that was placed in the possession of The Collector, the Power Stone, which was handed over to Nova Corps in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, and the Mind Stone which interestingly got affixed to Visions forehead in Avengers 2. The good money is on the last two gems, the Time Stone and Soul Stone, being revealed in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Doctor Strange, if not Thor 3.

From Thor Ragnarok to Avengers Infinity War

But Thor: Ragnarok will be the movie that will directly precede the first Avengers: Infinity War movie and as such, it should be looked at as having the biggest lead in and momentum building regarding the Infinity War storyline. Not only that, but Thanos and Loki are both being primed for being the ones responsible for the Asgardian apocalypse known as Ragnarok - there was a reason that Thor caught that glimpse of the Infinity Gauntlet in his Scarlet Witch fever dream in Avengers 2, right?

According to just about every Asgardian prophecy that Marvel has been known to adhere to, Loki is always the one who will go down as having caused the catastrophic event. So if you put a power-hungry Loki looking to strike a deal with a mischievous Thanos who wouldn't mind getting his glove on a certain Infinity Stone - you have all the makings for a Ragnarok in Thor 3. Will the Tesseract Space Stone be the first gem that Thanos adds to his Infinity Collection? Will he first want to obtain that OTHER glove before moving forward with his plan of destruction?

Death Becomes Her

There's a good chance, with Asgard looking like it will be seeing mass destruction, that this will be the case. I wouldn't be surprised if the first Avengers: Infinity War movie will see things getting increasingly bad - with Thanos having the power of the Space Stone to acquire more of the Infinity Stones. Poor Vision will be having a target on his head - almost literally! The one to keep an eye on though is that Reality Stone - the Aether from Thor 2. In the comic books Thanos did crush and kill many an Avenger as well as half of the universe's population.

Most of this evil doing on the part of Thanos was done in an effort to impress Mistress Death - one of those kinds of ladies that is just impossible to shop for and never seems happy with what you get her. With Ragnarok around the corner - meaning plenty of death in store for Asgard, Thor 3 would also be a perfect time for this character to appear and really throw the Infinity War into motion.

What do you think? Which Marvel movie do you think will be playing the biggest part in leading up to the Infinity War? [Thor: Ragnarok](tag:956858)? Guardians of the Galaxy 2? Doctor Strange? Head to the comments and give us your plan for Marvel's Phase 3!
