Rockstar have undoubtedly created some of the most fascinating and engaging worlds in the video game industry. Ever since they developed the 3D world of GTA 3, they've been pushing the boundaries of open-world gameplay. There are a great many games that you could select from their oeuvre and label as their finest achievement. But which game is your personal favourite?

Personally, even though I find myself in a state of elation with GTA V's Online mode on PS4, I always think fondly of Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption. Having played a few hours of it over the weekend, I still find myself transfixed by the writing, voice acting, story and gameplay of one of the greatest games ever created. GTA 5 is a masterpiece in its own right, but there's something about Red Dead Redemption that resonates far more for me.

Naturally, I want to see Red Dead Redemption 2, and if the fates allow, this year will be the time that we finally get to see it. But the only thing about Red Dead Redemption is that it has dated a little. It had a fair few bugs at launch, and you can still see a lot of pop-in and such in comparison with their more recent achievements. Therefore, I'd love to see this classic arrive on the PS4 and XBOX One, but most importantly, PC.

Red Dead Redemption Remaster on Xbox One, PS4 and PC

With a whole host of Video Games receiving the remastered treatment as of late I could certainly see Rockstar joining in with their glorious Red Dead Redemption. If Red Dead Redemption 2 is indeed on the horizon, it'd be a fantastic way to get us all excited and thinking about this great western once more. The XBOX One and PS4 need something as great as Red Dead Redemption to arrive, in a beautiful 60 FPS and 1080p form.

Would you guys like to see Red Dead Redemption make the leap onto current gen platforms? Have you played it recently? How do you think it holds up after 5 years of advancements in the industry? I'm wondering how a sequel could surpass the glory of GTA 5, but there could be one interesting way that Red Dead Redemption 2 could go!

Is Red Dead Redemption a Better Game Than GTA 5?

This remains a discussion that many gamers engage with. I'm still playing GTA 5 after nearly 3 years. It is a remarkable achievement and an incredibly addictive game - there's nothing else out there quite like it. But when it comes to its main campaign, I find that the world and criticisms of American culture are more profound and interesting when set against the backdrop of the old west.

The characters feel more real in Red Dead Redemption, even though a lot of them are strangely eccentric. GTA 5 feels too much like a parody to take some of its most ridiculous aspects seriously. But then that's just me. It is still one of the greatest achievements of our gaming generation and I can't wait to see how they'll improve upon it with Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 6.

What do you think gamers? Is Red Dead Redemption still a better game than GTA 5? Or has the latter improved upon every aspect of that game? Be sure to let us know what your favourite Rockstar game is in the comments!
