Was there even any doubt that "Avengers: Age Of Ultron" would be the top grossing movie at the Box Office this weekend? I mean really.
Here are the TOP 5 Movies at the Domestic Box Office on the weekend of May 1st 2015! As always thanks to www.boxofficemojo.com for all these numbers!
1) AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON - $187.6 Million
Arguably the years most anticipated movie (tied with Star Wars) opened in the US this weekend and it crushed at the Box Office, making an astounding $187 Million.
Now this highly anticipated sequel surprisingly made less than its predecessor which is right now holds the record for opening weekend Box Office with an incredible $207 Million. As many speculated, a lot of the public were occupied this weekend watching the Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Boxing match and may not have wanted to make a trip out to the theater. I assume that's where "Age Of Ultron" lost some of its Box Office take. There was an estimated 40 Million people watching that fight this weekend so its understandable as to why the movie didn't make more.
This debut is still the second highest OF ALL TIME, that is still a Marvel-ous achievement and has added to its incredible Worldwide take which is already $626 Million after opening overseas a week in advance.
"Age Of Ultron" will of course be in the number 1 spot next weekend where a lot of the audience that missed it this weekend will probably make the trip out to see it along with audiences wanting a second viewing.
Marvel now lead Box Office weekends with "The Avengers", "Age Of Ultron" and "Iron Man 3" being the TOP 3 opening weekends of all time.
Many critics have given the film a negative review, it currently standing at 75% compared to its predecessors 92% Rating. I personally loved the film and believe it to be a superior one compared to "The Avengers", you can check out my review here - AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON - Movie Review.

The first Billion dollar hit of 2015 dropped 65 percent this weekend in its fifth week, the surprise hit has now made $1.4 Billion worldwide and is the number 4 movie of all time behind "The Avengers" at number 3. FURIOUS 7 - Movie Review.
