What can we expect from Season 6 of AMC's The Walking Dead?
As you may or may not know, Season 6 of AMC's The Walking Dead began filming at 5 am this morning (Monday, May 4). With that we will soon be getting official images from set and possibly some teaser trailers. You can see some of the pictures on The Spoiling Dead Fans Facebook here.
Cast Member Arrested?!
So anyways, earlier yesterday, Seth Gilliam, who plays Father Gabriel, on The Walking Dead was arrested for DUI, speeding, and possession of marijuana. Does that mean we will see the end of the snitching priest? I don't think so. There was a similar conflict with Scott Wilson (Hershel Greene) during filming for Season 3 of The Walking Dead. So I think Gabriel will stay around for at least the first half of the sixth season.
In a recent interview from TVLine, series creator Robert Kirkman told us about two new characters we will be meeting in the sixth season. The first character's name is Delvin, Kirkman said this about Delvin:
"Delvin is a twenty-something African American cynic who is left so dumbfounded by displays of stupidity that it's nearly impossible for him to admit that he thinks, deep down, people are, or at least can be decent. Even if they're idiots."
The second new character we will be meeting is named Tucker, when asked about Tucker, Kirkman said he is:
"A hard working tough guy who values fairness."
Most people think that Delvin will be the TV show's adaption of Heath from the comics. That would make sense, figuring in the TV show we are caught up to around issue 77, and in the comics we meet Heath in issue 69, telling me we will see him very soon. As for Tucker, most people think he is a whole new character all together.
Main Character Death Predictions
As we all know, no one is safe on The Walking Dead. Last season, we lost four members of Rick's group, as well as many Termites, including Gareth and Mary. The characters we lost in Season 5 were Bob, Beth, Tyreese, and Noah. We also lost two Alexandrians, Reg and Pete.
In issue 100 of The Walking Dead comics, Glenn meets his brutal end when he is beaten to death by Lucielle, Negan's barbed wired baseball bat.
Some fans (including me), feel that instead of Glenn taking his brutal comic book death, it will be Daryl. I think that Negan won't be introduced until possibly the mid-season finale of Season 7 of The Walking Dead.
I think there will be a possibility of either Glenn or Maggie dying this season, and also possibly Deanna and/or Jessie. But from our main group of survivors I feel Tara, Rosita, Glenn, Maggie, Gabriel, and Abraham would be the most likely to die this season.
Will Carl lose an eye?
Warning: Comic book spoilers for The Walking Dead ahead! Read at your own risk!
In issue 83 of the comics, Carl gets his eye shot out by Douglas Monroe, and since we are getting close to that story arc in the show, many fans speculate that Carl will lose an eye.
I don't, and reasons being that it would cost too much money to have the effects for as long as Carl is alive in the show, and Kirkman has said the show will go on for "as long as people keep watching."
Possible Comic Book Story Arcs
The first half of the season, I expect we can see the 'No Way Out story' arc, reasons being that the new villains, "The Wolves," are building a walker army, and because they have the pictures of Alexandria, I believe they will attack Alexandria with the walker army, leading us into the 'No Way Out' story arc.
In the second half of Season 6, I believe we will see the 'We Find Ourselves' and the 'A Larger World' story arcs, leading Seasons 7 and 8 to the 'Something to Fear,' 'What Comes After,' 'March to War,' and 'All Out War' story arcs.
