The cast for Captain America: Civil War just keeps getting bigger. Even with the likes of Avengers and villains appearing in this film, there seems to be room for a hobbit to join the cast. Reports from Marvel reveal that Hobbit and Sherlock star Martin Freeman will be joining Civil War's ensemble. I have no issue of with this casting move from Marvel Studios. In all of his roles, Freeman has proven himself to be a solid performer. Whatever role he plays in Civil War, I am sure Martin Freeman will give it 110%. However, now that we know Mr. Freeman's involvement in Captain America 3, you can't help but wonder just who could Martin be playing? It is hard to see Freeman as the likes of a super powered being; but then again you never know. So until we have a better idea of his role, here are some ideas on who I think Martin Freeman could play in Captain America: Civil War.

Henry Gyrich

This choice is a matter of being logical oppose to being a personal pick for me. There are some who are already saying that Martin Freeman will be playing Henry Gyrich. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the character, Henry Gyrich is a politician who is constantly opposing the Marvel superheroes. Gyrich playing a role in Civil War does have some bearing to it. Given the story that the movie is based off of, a character like Henry Gyrich would be suitable for the overall plot. So maybe Martin Freeman is playing Gyrich. This character would be a different role for Martin Freeman, but I think Freeman could pull it off. His standard appearance could be suitable for political character like Gyrich. Even if Freeman does not end up playing Gyrich, we are likely going to this character (or someone like him) appear in Civil War.

When this announcement was made my first thought of Freeman being a part of Civil War went to the actor lending his voice oppose to being physically on screen. I could easily see Martin Freeman voicing a new JARVIS system for Tony Stark. I realize that this idea might be a crazy as(SPOILERS ahead) Iron Man was using the female CPU known as Friday in the climax of Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, perhaps Friday was a temporary program,or maybe Tony is now using multiple voice systems for his armors. If Martin Freeman ends up being a new version of Jarvis, I think that could work to Freeman's advantage. Freeman has always had this sense of energy in his roles, and JARVIS has always had a dynamic chemistry with Tony. Maybe Marvel is looking for a new AI for Iron Man that is new but keeps the same kind of chemistry that Tony had with Jarvis. If that is the case then I believe Martin Freeman would be perfect for Iron Man's new operating system; that is if they are not sticking with Friday.

J.Jonah Jameson

Hear me out on this one. We know that Spider-Man will be making an appearance in Captain America: Civil War; so perhaps some of Spidey's supporting characters will also be making an appearance. With a super human activity being regulated, it would no doubt lead to news outlets such as the Daily Bugle covering everything on the conflict. So why not use Civil War as a means to introduce J.Jonah Jameson? Now Martin Freeman is likely no one's first choice to play JJ; however (oddly enough) I could see Freeman playing the editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle. Freeman's charisma could not only work for J.Jonah Jameson, but it could also bring something refreshing to the character's career on the silver screen. Freeman may not be a the first pick to play this Spider-Man character, but I believe he could definitely pull off the chief of the Daily Bugle.

Any of these characters would suit both Civil War and Martin Freeman; though I am leaning towards Freeman playing Henry Gyrich. However, until we know for sure, any role for this actor is possible;whether Freeman is playing Henry Gyrich or becomes the new voice system for Iron Man . Yet, as I stated earlier, you can be sure that Martin Freeman will give it his all for this anticipated Marvel blockbuster.

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
