So it was confirmed not too long ago that Sherlock and The Hobbit star Benedict Cumberbatch is cast to play Doctor Strange in his own solo film set for release in November 2016. Now wherever there's Cumberbatch, there is also his right-hand man Martin Freeman, who co-starred with him in both the BBC Sherlock serial and the Hobbit Trilogy. And now we are getting reports that it has been confirmed that Martin Freeman is in line to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in May 2016 as one of the cast for the upcoming Captain America: Civil War.

Now looking at this line-up here, I think it totally makes sense. But it is also rumored that both Cumberbatch and Freeman will not be in the same film together. While Cumberbatch is set for Doctor Strange, it is unknown on whether Freeman will be a hero, villain or a supporting character. And this is the first time that the two are in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but they will like I said, not be working together in their own respective movies.

Now this isn't the first time some of the key cast members of The Hobbit trilogy were to star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We already know that Lee Pace (Thranduil) was in last year's epic Guardians of the Galaxy as the villainous Ronan the Accuser. And we also know that Evangeline Lily (Tauriel) is Hope van Dyne in Ant-Man. Also, we also have seen Lord Of The Rings and Hobbit star Hugo Weaving in the role of Johann Schmidt/Red Skull in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger.

What I like about this casting in the upcoming Civil War is that Martin Freeman is that one guy who brings his own potential of charisma. And I also am surprised that him along with his Hobbit co-stars have either been in or will be in a film set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So I officially want to welcome yet another great actor into this already-popular superhero franchise, which I think will get even better now that Freeman is on board.

Captain America: Civil War along with Freeman will Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Jeremy Renner, Daniel Bruhl and Chadwick Boseman.

So what do you think about this news? Who do you want Freeman to be in Captain America Civil War? Whatever the case, leave your comments down below.
