The comic book craze is alive and well and studios are continuing to mine titles big and small for feature length films. Infinite horizon is one of the next comics to make the jump from the page to the big screen. Warner bros has secured the film rights to the sci-fi epic that was inspired by the odyssey. Greg Berlanti, the producer behind the Flash and Arrow is set to produce the film.
Here's the plot synopsis:
A soldier’s long journey home after years of war in the Middle East. In the not-too-distant future a small group of abandoned soldiers are lead home by one man: The Captain. To get back he will have to cross half the globe and endure deadly encounters with many enemies including the Cyclops, and the Sirens…but first he will have to survive the final hours of the war!
Infinite horizon sounds like it could be a very interesting twist on a story from Greek mythology since it will have a sci-fi twist among other differences. The comic itself isn't as well known as other titles but given the climate of the film industry studios seem more than willing to gamble on a lesser known comic adaptations compared to original content. We'll see how this turns out.
