What happens if you take The Walking Dead and replace the flesh-eating zombies with flesh-eating animals? Well, you'll probably end up with something like Zoo, CBS' new animal-apocalypse series based on the James Patterson bestseller.
The series, which is global in scale and directed by The Machinist's Brad Anderson, tells of a world where animals have risen against us pesky humans and decided to munch our legs and/or faces. To show this fact, it's just debuted its first growling, snarling and woofing filled promo trailer:
Jackson Oz, a young, renegade American zoologist who spends his days running safaris in the wilds of Africa when he begins noticing the strange behavior of the animals. As the assaults become more cunning, coordinated and ferocious, he is thrust into the race to unlock the mystery of the pandemic before there’s no place left for people to hide.
The show, which stars James Wolk, Kristen Connolly, Billy Burke, Nora Arnezeder and Nonso Anozie, is currently due to premiere on CBS on June 30 at 9/8c.
