Look, I have faith. I really do. Surely Valve is still developing Half-Life 3? I mean, it's Half-Life 3 for goodness sake, they wouldn't just abandon it, would they?
Whatever is going on behind the scenes at Valve, it is starting to become increasingly hard to continue to fly the flag of Half-Life 3 optimism. We haven't heard anything about the world's most famous piece of vaporware since... well, ever really, and maybe that's starting to make fans lose hope. Luckily, there are people like Shane Baxley to keep the fires burning.
Baxley is a concept artist who has worked with Subaru, Disney and MLB, while more recently he has also submitted conceptual sketches to Black Ops III. He decided it was high-time Dog went through an upgrade and created his own unofficial Half-Life 3 concept art. Check it out below:
Of course, concept art is the only thing we have seen from the now infinitely delayed Half-Life 2: Episode 3. The concept art we did see appeared to show a snowy ice climate which would tally with the cliffhanger ending of Episode 2. Most fans now assume Episode 3 has been scrapped and instead an entirely new sequel, Half -Life 3, is being developed - although there is still no confirmation of this fact from Valve. Instead, we must simply trust the all-mighty Gods of gaming and hope they will one day deliver their bountiful gift to the faithful.
