"Captain America: Civil War" has added another impressive name to its already fantastic cast.

Star of "The Hobbit" and "Sherlock", Martin Freeman, has joined the cast of the upcoming Marvel film.

"From his roles as Bilbo Baggins and Doctor Watson to Tim in 'The Office,' Martin's range from the dramatic to the comedic has consistently impressed us," said "Captain America: Civil War" Producer Kevin Feige. "We couldn't be more honored or excited to have such a talented actor join the Marvel Cinematic Universe."

This really came as a shock to me when I heard the news early this morning, not because I don't believe Freeman to be talented (because he really is) but because I never imagined him in a Marvel film, it just never occurred to me. That being said, I am very happy that he's going to appear in the film. I've been a fan of Freeman for years, he most impressed me recently with his great performance in the TV version of "Fargo" and his ability to elevate and improve "The Hobbit" films.

Freeman certainly has range, from his comedy days in "The Office" to a quite twisted performance in "Fargo", the man certainly knows how to adapt.

There has been no word on who Freeman will play in the film but don't expect him to be donning tights and a cape, I expect Freeman to play a much more grounded role, most likely a man in government involved in the 'Superhero Registration Act'.

Martin Freeman is now the second "Sherlock" alumni to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sherlock himself, Benedict Cumberbatch, joined the MCU as Doctor Strange, who's solo film is also hitting theaters in 2016.

I'm really happy with this casting, but what about you guys? Let me down below in the comments!
