It was confirmed by Hugh Jackman today on the 'Dr. Oz Show' that the 3rd Wolverine movie will be the last time Hugh Jackman will be playing Wolverine. He will most likely be in 'X-Men: Apocalypse' for it takes place before the third Wolverine movie.

This is what Hugh Jackman said on the show:

“It is my last time,It just felt like it was the right time to do it. And let’s be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I’m so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it."

“I kind of have in my head what we’re going to do in this last one. It just feels like this is the perfect way to go out."

It was told back in March that Hugh confirmed he'd stop playing Wolverine. It's just we now know which movie he will stop at and how close the end is to one of our favorite heroes. I'm not sure what will happen to the X-Men franchise now that Wolverine is gone. They will probably just make more movies but i see this as a perfect opportunity for Fox to give the X-Men rights back to Marvel. Let's be honest here guys, the X-Men franchise will probably not make as much money as it would if Hugh Jackman's Wolverine was in it. So let's just hope Fox will give the rights back and put this chapter of our lives behind us. Whoever else they try to get to play Wolverine will have some high standards to beat after Jackman's amazing performance. Hugh Jackman has played Wolverine since the first X-Men movie back in 2000 which was 15 years ago.

Well It's been a good 15 years Hugh! Lets just hope the next 2 will be as good.
