Hey MARVEL fans! Are you super excited about Captain America: Civil War? Well so are we! Today, MARVEL Studios released an official press release and synopsis for the third Cap adventure! The cast is incredibly massive, making Anthony Mackie’s (Sam Wilson/Falcon) statement of this being another Avengers film. Boy he wasn’t wrong! Some of the new cast members include Paul Rudd from Ant-Man and a long time no see William Hurt as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross from The Incredible Hulk; which marks his first appearance in his second MARVEL film!

The press release does include Martin Freeman in an unspecified role; but strangely enough does not mention Daniel Bruhl as Baron Zemo, which has been confirmed.

“Captain America: Civil War” picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

Anthony Mackie was right, Avengers 2.5 is on its way and we cannot wait! With Joe and Anthony Russo returning to direct with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely having penned the script, it continues to prove MARVEL Studio’s stroke of genius.

Captain America: Civil War will be shot with the new IMAX 2D Digital cameras with the Russo brothers hinting at an incredible scene that will be presented in the massive scale in the IMAX theater!

Principal Photography Begins in Atlanta

The production will shoot on location in Atlanta, Georgia, which serves as the base for the film’s production, as well as locations in Germany, Puerto Rico and Iceland.

Set for release in the United States on May 6, 2016, “Captain America: Civil War” is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo (Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Community”) from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (“Captain America: The Winter Solider,” Marvel’s “Captain America: The First Avenger”).
