Since bursting onto the scene in 2002 with comedy horror Cabin Fever Eli has always managed to split audiences right down the middle.

Take Hostel, you either love it or you have it, and Eli has often been heralded as the front runner of the 'torture porn' craze, some say he is a genius, some vehemently disagree.

So what if I was to tell you that his college years exactly mirror what has happened in his professional career.

Crypt TV were given an exclusive by Roth, his student movie Restaurant Dogs. A blatant homage to Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs, his tutors loathed the short film, saying it was like a music video, and he shouldn't graduate.

His student peers however, loved it, and he won a student academy award for the movie!

Eli's next movie The Green Inferno will hit a theatre near you on September 25, 2015.
