If the Reddit leak is to believed, we finally know what exactly will be happening in Bioware's Mass Effect 4 - at least to a certain degree. We know that we play as a Pathfinder, a combat trained but un-tested explorer leading an expedition into the Helius cluster to establish a new home for humanity. According to the leak, we are lightyears away from the events of the Mass Effect trilogy.
The trilogy took place within our own Milky Way system, which was the one area that the Reapers continually returned to in order to annihilate all races that flourished. These events will seemingly have no affect upon our lives as we search for a brand new home - so I guess it's true that our saves won't matter in Mass Effect 4. But what I'm wondering is if we'll actually get to meet characters we interacted with in the past on the release date of Mass Effect 4!
Mass Effect 4 - Could We Still See Garrus, Liara & More On its Release Date?
Now, if you haven't played the conclusion to Bioware's incredible trilogy, you might want to give this section a miss. But essentially, at the climax of Mass Effect 3 we see Joker, Garrus, Liara and Edi (correct me on that if anyone else had different characters in the Normandy) flee the explosive blast that Shepard unleashes. We see them crash onto a desolate planet and emerge from the wreckage of the Normandy.
Now, for a lot of us this didn't make any sense what so ever. After all, Garrus is one character that can't eat anything that doesn't contain dextro-amino acids, which this planet almost definitely doesn't have. Therefore, how is he going to survive this landing? Was Bioware offering up a really dark and ambiguous ending? Will it ever be cleared up?
Mass Effect 4 - According to the Reddit Plot Leak
According to the Reddit plot leak we'll be tasked with organising a lot of missions, some of which we ourselves won't be going on. It sounds very similar to the system that Bioware employed with Dragon Age: Inquisition, in that we had to manage the War Table and co-ordinate missions for our followers to deal with. We'll be doing the same in Mass Effect 4, but I can so see one of them being an investigation mission on one particular planet.
We hear that an unidentified ship has crashed onto a desolate planet and that lifeforms were aboard. We could take a group with us and check out the planet, only to find Garrus, Liara and the rest of the crew in need of help. We could then take them back to our base and they could fill us in on the events with Shepard and finally get some insight into what they thought of the climactic events!
Personally, I think this would be amazingly cool! They need to have something great like this for fans of the series to lose their heads over - and the return of some of the most beloved characters in the trilogy is an apt way to do it. But what do you think Mass Effect fans? Does this mission seem likely for the release date of Mass Effect 4?
What did you think of the Reddit leak? Let us know here if you liked the plot! Mass Effect 4 will hopefully get a release date in 2016 for the XBOX One and PS4, until then, we hope that E3 has enough to keep us excited for what Bioware has planned!
