We all are no strangers to the fact that Stan Lee appears in every Marvel movie and that too without any specific character or back story. Well I am here to give that character just what it needed!

Born on December 28, 1922 as Stanley Martin Leiber, Stan Lee was the son of two Romanian born Jewish parents, Celia (née Solomon) and Jack Lieber, in an apartment in New York. Since, childhood Stan Lee was in love with movies and books that dealt with acts of heroism. His parents lived a very economically backward life through his childhood. Stan Lee was always interested in writing and had large dreams.

Stan Lee, in his youth he worked such part-time jobs as writing obituaries for a news service and press releases for the National Tuberculosis Center; delivering sandwiches for the Jack May pharmacy to offices in Rockefeller Center; working as an office boy for a trouser manufacturer; ushering at the Rivoli Theater on Broadway; and selling subscriptions to the New York Herald Tribune newspaper.

Soon, his life was changed forever.

The job at Timely Comics

Stan Lee, managed to get a job through his uncle in Timely comics. At first, Stan Lee was doing a very small job at timely comics but soon it all changed. One day, Stan Lee was roaming around the office after it was closed and saw a letter lying under the CEO's table. The letter stated that -

S.H.E.I.L.D is planning something big. We need to find a solution before matters go out of hand. I hope your next edition will include this message. We need to get the word out to our people.

A very nervous Stan Lee dropped down the letter and started gathering all the comics released by the publication and soon found something very fascinating. He saw that there were encrypted messages written in the comics which were very simple to decode. The messages were about World War 2 and how this agency called "HYDRA" was planning on something very big. The world war was currently going on, so Stan Lee thought of sharing this information with the seemingly good guys, S.H.I.IE.L.D . At first, he couldn't find an address to go to S.H.I.E.L.D, but in the encrypted messages, a vague location "A bunker in New Jersey" was mentioned and Stan Lee immediately knew where it was as one of his friend earlier told him about a bunker in New jersey where he accidentally landed when he was practicing parachuting.

Stan Lee and S.H.E.I.L.D

Stan Lee soon reached S.H.E.I.L.D. The time when he arrived a the HQ, sirens and lights started to glow and armed men with guns shoed up in front of him. He said

I have some information on HYDRA!

...and he was allowed to speak.

Stan Lee told S.H.I.E.L.D. everything he knew about HYDRA's evil plans. S.H.I.E.L.D got very impressed and they offered Stan Lee a job.

Will you be an agent of S.H.I.E.LD? We will use our sources and will make you the interim editor at Timely comics. All the messages sent by HYDRA through the comics, will first be sent to us and then we will alter or not alter it according to our tactics. What say?

Soon, Stan Lee became the interim editor of Timely comics at the age of 19.

[Fun fact : One of his distant relatives, was in the army and looked exactly like him]

The events after his meet with S.H.I.E.L.D

After the world war got over and HYDRA dissolved its "Timely comics" tactic, Stan Lee soon renamed it as "Marvel comics". The comics began to grow slowly. It had managed to make a fan base among young children.

As the comics were growing rapidly, Stan Lee had to slightly cut down his involvement with S.H.I.E.L.D. Although he was given many important jobs such as keeping an eye on Spider Man, the fantastic four and many other superheroes, the one most important job of his was to test the inter galactic transmission device S.H.IE.L.D had made. This sent him to a planet called Xandar. He later came back to Earth and had a party with The Avengers!
