Mother Knows Best!
Over the years there have been a lot of strong and amazing female characters portrayed in movies. In celebration of Mother's Day, let's take a look at some of the most memorable moms to ever hit the big screen!
10. Stifler's Mom (American Pie)
Why? Because, reasons! Stifler's mom is an iconic figure that will forever be remembered by '90s kids.
9. Morticia Addams (The Addams Family)
Morticia Addams was one of the best moms, ever! She would do anything to protect her family, especially if she knew it was unpleasant. She was powerful, creepy and loving all at the same time.
8. Sarah Connor (Terminator)
Do I even need to justify this one? Sarah Connor took on two different Terminators to protect her son! She is the original badass mother.
7. Mrs. George (Mean Girls)
Because she's not a regular mom, she's a cool mom! And also because she's played by AMY. FREAKING. POEHLER, guys!
6. Beatrix Kiddo (Kill Bill)
The best mom on this list at wiggling their big toe, that's for sure! Uma Thurman rocked a black and yellow jumpsuit and gave us a good reason to never get between a mother and her child.
5. Mrs. Gump (Forrest Gump)
Because she taught us that life was like a box of chocolates, of course, and boy was she right. Sally Field's portrayal of a mother who was willing to do anything for her son's future is one that will be remembered forever.
4. Euphegenia Doubtfire (Mrs. Doubtfire)
Because Robin Williams in drag is still one of best mothers you can have. Robin Williams did whatever it took to be with his children in a performance that touched the hearts of millions. This iconic role is one that will live on throughout the ages.
3. Elastigirl (The Incredibles)
It's not easy being a mom, especially if your three children are a speedster, a girl who can go invisible and shapeshifter! Elastigirl will be back in The Incredibles 2 and I cannot wait to see more of her!
2. Molly Weasley (Harry Potter)
Because Molly Weasley is one of the sweetest women ever, unless you do something stupid... like kill her son. I remember watching Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 and hearing people in the theater applaud as Mrs. Weasley delivered that powerful line when Bellatrix tried to attack Ginny.
1. Hana (Wolf Children)
Okay, time for real talk!
If you haven't seen the animated masterpiece that is Wolf Children, then you just found your plans for the night. Hana is a single mom that decides to raise two children in the countryside. She learns to farm, does almost all the work herself, provides for her kids and OH - did I mention her children are werewolves? As much as I love the other moms on this list, Hana is the true definition of motherhood. It's an incredibly sweet movie and when you do watch it, keep a box of tissues nearby.
