First off, I LOVED [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](tag:293035). Lots of people are saying that it is not as good as the original, but I strongly disagree. For the most part, I loved everything. but there were a few things that just bothered me. But first the good...
1) Hulk vs Hulkbuster
Easily the most exciting, and funny part of the movie was the epic hulk vs Hulkbuster fight. Hulk buster is eleven feet tall for Pete sake. Probably the two best parts of the fight is when Iron Man rapidly punches Hulk while saying "go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep." The second would have to be right after Iron Man drops the elevator on Hulk. Hulk then spits out his tooth, and then there is a shot of Iron man, who at this point is becoming extremely nervous, saying "I'm sorry," in a very fragile voice.
2) The Entire Opening Scene
The entire opening scene is very comic-like. Especially the sequence shown below. The highlights are Iron Man saying a profanity word and then Captain America expressing his feelings by yelling, "Language." Iron Man later acknowledges he fact that Cap' say this, an dir is something that carries with him for the rest of the movie. The fighting in the opening scene is amazing, with fantastic special effects.
3) Hawkeye and Quicksilver
Constantly through the movie, Quicksilver speeds by Hawkeye, making some remark about Hawkeye not seeing that coming. Toward the end of the film, Quicksilver picks up his sister, Scarlet Witch, and then speed off again, telling Hawkeye to try and keep up and calling him an old man. Hawkeyes then takes aim after Hawkeye, and implies that he is going to shoot Quicksilver. He says " No one would know." He talks to himself, sarcastically planning what his excuse for Quicksilver's death would be, and saying that he will be missed.
4) The Final Battle
The final battle of the first Avengers was incredible, but I think that this one takes the cake. I love the combination of slow motion and regular speed camera work. The quickness of camera switches that focus on each hero is fantastic. But the slow-mo is awesome as well. And the fact that the stakes are much higher this time makes is so suspendible. The Avengers know that at any moment, Ultron can flip a switch, and drop an entire city and destroy the earth, but that makes it so much better.
5) Captain America vs Ultron
This fight showed up in multiple trailers and clips, and was worthy of such promotion. Captain America shows off his skills with both this fists and his shield. This scene also shows some awesome shots of Black Widow on her awesome motorcycle. Also, Ultron's arrogance is truly shown. he tells Captain America to stop, implying that there is no chance that Captain America can possible defeat him.
1) Quicksilver's Death
There were constant rumors about the death of an Avengers, or at least a main character, all through out the last year or so. Personally, I was hoping for Thor, for reasons that I don't feel like explaining right now. But, no, Marvel had to go and kill of one of my favorite characters, Quicksilver. I loved Quicksilver, and everything about him. I loved how he was quick tempered and extremely agitating. The constant playful bickering between him and Hawkeye was hilarious. I was extremely disappointed that he was the one who died. there were two good thins about his death, however. And they are: Quicksilver sacrificed himself for his fellow Avenger, Hawkeye, providing his now quotable line, " You didn't see that coming," for the last time. It was a truly dramatic moment that almost made me cry. The second reason is that it provides deep emotional pain and loss to his sister Scarlet Witch. All throughout Marvel movies, characters die, then reappear later, revealing that they either never died in the first place, or that they were miraculously saved or even brought back to life. Kevin Feige has even recently stated that Quicksilver is 100% dead, which I think is great. I loved Quicksilver, but I am also happy that Mavek has finally decided to keep on of their heroes is completely dead, and will stay dead.
2) Hulk & Black Widow Romance
I think that, for the most part, the romance between Natasha Romanoff and Bruce banner is fine. But I was hoping for more of a really strong friendship with a little romance. The conversations hey had about things like not being able to have a normal life was fine, but I think that the relationship should not have gone as far as it did. Particularly when Black Widow kisses Hulk. Although that led to a funny moment when she pushed Banner off of a cliff because she needed the other guy more than Banner.
3) The New Avengers
At the end of the movie, Cap' and Black Widow seem to be the new leaders of the Avengers, with four new recruits: The Vision, War Machine, Falcon, and Scarlet Witch. I don't think that the scene itself is bad, I just think that it shouldn't be there at all. I think that maybe Cap' and Widow should just walk into the room and talk without the faces of the New Avengers. I think tat a little mystery would have been just what Marvel needed. All of these character have already been confirmed for Captain America: Civil War, so it makes sense to me that they would not show up fully functioning as a team until the. However, I also think that the way they handled the New Avengers was fine, mostly because it saves time out of Civil War, where the New Avengers would have to be officially introduced.
4) Vision Wielding Mjolnir
Teases that someone other than Thor will wield Mjolnir during the duration of the MCU has been present for a long time, and shows up in the movie pretty quickly. Most people know about ow Cap' nudges Mjolnir during the party scene, but it is not him that ends up using Thor's most prized possession. It was Vision. I know, right. how could an android created by a robot (with the help of Tony stark and Bruce Banner.) But he does, and although I find it very stupid, he does twice. It makes sense though, when you think about it. The Vision is the perfect blend between Ultron and JARVIS. He realizes that the human race is what is wrong with the world, but he sees the good in them, and realizes that destroying all life on earth is not the way to fix the earth's problems. He doesn't want to fight, but he does because he knows that it is necessary. he shows leadership, and genuine caring for people, and robots. this is what I think make shim worthy to wield the might hammer of Thor. Or, it could be as simple as the rules being different for an android, just like an elevator (wink wink.)
5) The Vision's Looks
This one isn't much about Vision's looks, but how he got them. After Vision is hurled across Stark Tower, he lands and out of no where, creates his grayish-green suit, and his yellow cape. Now, I think that the design of the Vision was great, but the fact that he just sprouts his suit an cape out of no where is stupid to me. There should have been some explanation as to why he chose a yellow cape, and the grayish-green suit. Not anything long, maybe he could have seen something in Stark Tower that gave him the idea.
AND HERE'S A BONUS SPOILER FOR EVERYONE READING...
I bet that none of you noticed that the Vision's colors are the same as the butterfly that Hawkeye's daughter drew, then gave to Black Widow. It was yellow and magenta-ish, just like the Vision. Bruce Banner looks at the butterfly, and begins to talk about how Ultron is going to evolve, just like butterflies going from a caterpillar to a butterfly.
