WARNING: THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS. IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THIS MOVIE YET I RECOMMEND YOU SHOULD READ SOMEWHERE ELSE.
So I saw Avengers Age of Ultron last Saturday and I loved it! It had a lot of action and well shot scenes. People have been going around saying that this movie wasn't worth the wait or wasn't worth all the hype from the trailers. To be honest, I think there were some unstable parts of the movie as well. Really the only characters that actually got enough story were Hulk and Black Widow. I felt this way because they were the only people who had their relationship shown in the story. Now I don't hate the movie. I had been waiting a long time for this movie and I felt like it lived up to some of the expectations.
If you didn't see the spoiler message above, now would be a good time to leave. Now here are the twins. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. These two are convinced that Ultron wants to save the world by stopping Stark and the Avengers. If you don't know their story from the movie, they had let Struker, (I hope thats how you spell it) a scientist working for Hydra, do experiments on them. This gave Scarlet Witch the power to read minds and use the power of magic at her will. This also gave Quicksilver the power to run extremely fast. So they help Ultron try to take down the Avengers by Scarlet Witch giving nightmare-like thoughts to each of the Avengers from the fight scene in the vault. At close to the end of the movie, Quicksilver sacrifices himself to save Hawkeye and the kid Hawkeye was trying to save. (which he did) This had happened because Ultron was using the Quinjet to shoot across the city, making Hawkeye in danger with the child. Quicksilver had, quickly, picked them up and ran them to a safe spot, making Quicksilver be shot all over his body, and dropping dead. Some people did not really feel the emotion that Scarlet Witch had felt for her him, knowing that he is her brother. They thought Quicksilver really wasn't brought in to the story as much as the others. To me he was important because whenever Scarlet was panicking or scared, he was there to help her and tell her its all ok.
This part of the review talks about Ultron as a villain and the fight between Hulk and Hulkbuster. Ultron is a very special villain. He is an AI who was made by Tony Stark. Tony had created him to save the world. He had used the power from the scepter, (from the first Avengers) to create Ultron's AI system. I could tell he had been working on this for a while with Banner. He said this was the final piece needed to finish Ultron through out the movie. But then, as AI is stood for, he had thought for himself and "killed" Jarvis who was trying to contain him. Ultron had made a body for him to be in. After that he fought the Avengers. He had been defeated but he had already uploaded himself to the internet. Then he makes a better body and creates more "minions". Then he...well I'm not going to explain the whole movie now :/
The Hulkbuster fight was REALLY AWESOME. The action had been amazing and all of it was well shot. But at the same time I feel like the fight was sort of forced. After Scarlet had did the nightmare power to the Avengers, she found Banner and did it to him as well. And, well, we all know what happens when Banner is angry. He had jumped to New York City and started creating destruction. Tony was the only one who wasn't controlled, so he finds out what was happening and assembles in the Hulkbuster suit. Now from there on the fight was awesome. Like I said though I did feel like the way it was put, that it was forced.
Now this the part I have been waiting to write through out this whole review. One word. Vision. Vision is related to Ultron but is created from Tony and Jarvis. Vision is technically Jarvis but in body form. He is personally my favorite as a super hero. He is an AI created to stop Ultron and ends up being a part of the Avengers. This the only hero I know of that doesn't contain any hate from people. The scenes of Vision were actually really cool. I think the way they introduced Vision was interesting. Now one last thing that I wanted to talk about is that like I said before, this movie has great fight scenes and visuals. But the dialogue is kind of rusty. Not all the characters are brought into a way that they get enough attention. For example, Captain America, he was awesome in The Winter Soldier. But in this movie he barely gets any fight scene footage and he doesn't have that much to say.
Also I LOVE the way they made Ultron. I can tell they put a lot of work into him as for animation and casting. Overall, I give this movie 4 out of 5 stars. It's a great movie for fight scenes and shots. And I would definitely watch it again. Anyway I hope you enjoyed this review!! I put a lot of work into it so I hope you like it. Thanks for reading!!
