Warning: Spoilers for Avengers: Age of Ultron ahead!!!!!

Back in January, I made five bold predictions for the new Avengers movie. It's my most popular article by a long shot, so I assume some of you have seen it. If not, you can take a look here:,manual

I have to say, I was kind of onto something with a few of them. I've been horribly off before, but I didn't do too shabby with these. Let's have a look at what I said would happen:

Prediction #5: An End-Credits Scene Featuring Ant-Man

This would seem like the logical prediction for Marvel's always-present post-credits scene, but they decided to surprise us by giving Thanos another whirl. This time, we get to see the mad space titan finally get up out of his chair, proclaiming "I'll do it myself". Whether he's talking about getting the Infinity Stones or killing the Avengers, it's an obvious set up for the plot of Avengers: Infinity War, Part 1 & Part 2. This could be bad news for our beloved heroes, as they were already given a hard enough time taking down Loki and Ultron. It'll be interesting to see how they react to this new threat in the third and fourth installments.

Prediction #4: Ultron Is The Best Villain in MCU History

This one's more opinion-based, so it's impossible to definitely say whether or not I got it right on this one. In my personal opinion, he was the third best villain, behind Loki and The Winter Soldier (depending on whether you consider him a villain). James Spader's portrayal was undoubtedly brilliant, but I didn't find Ultron quite as menacing as I felt I should have. I never reached a point where I didn't know how he could possibly be defeated. He certainly had personality and depth, but he was more of an opponent than a true 'villain', if that makes sense. I'm sure I'll get crucified in the comments for this one, but I think they could've done a better job.

Prediction #3: Guardians of the Galaxy Will Tie In Somehow

It kinda did. The Infinity Gems played a role in the movie, and aside from a brief cameo in Thor, we've only seen them in Guardians of the Galaxy up to this point. If I recall correctly, there was actually a clip from GotG shown in Age of Ultron, based on that you could say I was right. The guardians themselves didn't play a part, but there was a definite bridge connecting the plots of the two movies.

Prediction #2: A Major Character Bites The Dust

I did say there would be spoilers, so if you didn't read that at the beginning of this article, this is where your luck runs out: Quicksilver is dead, bitches! I got one right! Though I have to say, I got the impression that they only killed him for the sake of killing someone. Pietro was kind of a good characters, and the way they made him die by saving Hawkeye's life was kinda weak. I mean, at least have him sacrifice himself to save Ultron! It really wouldn't have taken much just to have the bullets miss Hawkeye, and that way everyone could've lived! And now that I think about it, where the hell did the Hulk go at the end of that film? Since he doesn't have his pilot's license, it's not likely he could've smoothly maneuvered his way back to the Avengers Tower, so does that mean he's dead? I hope we're not going to have to wait until 2018 to find out. I'm still not sure what happened to Odin at the end of Thor: The Dark World.

Prediction #1: Captain America Will Lift Thor's Hammer

Damnit past me, why couldn't you have just said that another Avenger will lift Thor's hammer? Then you would've been right! Whatever, it was still really awesome when Vision just nonchalantly handed Mjolnir to Thor. And to be fair, Steve did make it budge a little when he made his attempt. It's still perfectly likely that Steve will be blessed by the gods of badassery in Infinity War and use that hammer to bash the hell out of some bad guys when it's least expected. If it does, this will totally count as being correct, won't it?
