After Annie Liebovitz's and Vanity Fair magazine's stunning photographic exposé into the goings on behind the scenes on the set of The Force Awakens', we caught a glimpse of the wonderful Lupita Nyong'o in action with her heavily mo-capped portrayal of the character codenamed "Rose."

The photoshoot revealed that "Rose" is actually a space faring pirate named Maz Kanata, who controls a castle where "galactic travelers, smugglers, and other assorted riffraff" can rest their weary bones, before setting back off into the stars to continue their ways of riffraffery.

What the photo shoot didn't reveal, however, is what the hell Maz Kanata actually looks like. Well wonder no more reader, because your friendly neighborhood Internet has delivered yet another leak, this time curated by the peeps over at Indie Revolver, that gives us the closest possible look at Kanata's design.

Let's have a peep:

Okay, interesting...

For a while, rumors were persistent with the idea that Kanata's portrayal would be carried out by puppeteers, due to Abrams' insistence on utilizing as many practical effects as possible, but it seems that bringing this character to life with good old sticks and string wouldn't have cut it.

Either way, i'm looking forward to seeing how this character is used, but not as much as the whole film itself!

What do you think?

Better than painting Nyong'o in green paint, or badass puppetry?
