CBS show Person of Interest has been spared the chopping block today when it was given a fifth season. Fans of the show will be rejoicing about the news, especially after a tense Season 4 finale.

Despite the show being renewed, the fifth season will be shorter, most likely 13 episodes instead of the usual 22 or 23 episodes, and while CBS won't confirm that this is the last season for the show, a truncated season does seem to hint that the writers have been ordered to use this remaining season to wrap the series up.

Despite having fewer numbers, the fact that the show was given a 13 episode season is much more preferable than having the series abruptly cancelled after Season 4, leaving die-hard fans angry and unsatisfied. Person of Interest, being the well planned show it is, will no doubt utilize its remaining episodes extremely well, and I have no doubt that it will make this fifth season top quality to send the show out on a high.
