I'm sure Star Wars fans are all looking forward to Battlefront's release for a multitude of reasons, whether it be a return to, arguably, one of Star Wars' best tie-in games, recreating epic battles from Lucas' space lore, getting to play as a damn Jedi or Sith (however you play yours) and, not forgetting, dogfights (A-Wing FTW!).
And in a recent Reddit AMA, Matthew Everett, SW:B's community manager, sought to make us even more frothy at the mouth with the reveal that Han Solo and Chewbacca's legendary spacecraft, the most legendary spacecraft in the whole damn franchise, the Millennium Falcon, will be playable in game!
Everett went on to discuss, in minute detail, that friggin' Snowspeeders "and more" will also be available to pilot in game, if runnin' and gunnin' isn't really your bag.
The vehicles will also be easier to pilot apparently, though, once again, Everett didn't go into anymore specifics regarding that detail. Here's what he had to say:
[They're] a lot easier to fly. Very Padawan friendly. We will go into more details on what makes them Padawan friendly and Jedi master-able (is that even a word?).
So add these bad boys to the AT-ST, X-Wings, TIE-Fighters and Speeder Bikes, and we've ourselves a pretty epic sounding prospect. But, as I enthused earlier, A-Wings better make an appearance.
I haven't piloted the Falcon since the Nintendo 64's sublime Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, so this is a very, very special moment for me as it fills me with excitement and reminds me that I'm old. A strange, strange sensation.
One that's rendered sweeter with each watch of SW:B reveal trailer:
