"The Martial Arts Kid" has been cleaning up at film festivals recently - and James Wilson, one of the film's producer's, couldn't be happier about the recognition that the movie and it's young stars are receiving.

"We were excited by our win at WorldFest Houston with the Platinum Remi Award in the Family category", says James Wilson."We were also thrilled by Jansen (Panettiere, who plays the titular "KId") & Kathryn (Newton)s nominations as Best Rising Star & Supporting Actress."

"So it was very rewarding for us to win again at the Sunscreen Film Festival with (the) "Best Florida Film: award", James Wilson continues. "We had great audience reactions in each showing we have had but it is also nice to receive recognition by Festival Judges."

"It seems that the anti-bully message, the family theme, the love story and ethics of training people to fight in our film has resonated with the audience and the judges -and of course the action & humor help too", he adds. "Sunscreen was a great experience (and) very well run and professional all the way."

"We were all proud of Matthew Ziff winning Best Supporting Actor", James Wilson concludes. "He was terrific in a difficult role as Bo the Bully. He worked hard for this role."

"The Martial Arts Kid" is co-headlined by martial arts/action-movie legends Cynthia Rothrock and Don "The Dragon" Wilson (brother of James). It stars Panettiere as the titular "Kid", Robbie; Newton as his love interest and Ziff as the bully who torments him.
