We already knew that Felicity Jones would be featured in Star Wars anthology film, Rogue One. Now we have news out of Variety (normally reliable) that Elysium actor Diego Luna has nabbed a role alongside Jones! This is big news out of the first spin-off in the expanded Star Wars Cinematic Universe (seems like everybody has a Universe these days, huh?).
The movie, according to director Gareth Edwards, will be set between Episodes III & IV, and it will focus on a group of rebel fighters on a mission to steal the Death Star plans. Jones, Luna and Riz Ahmed will all play rebel fighters according to rumors. From The Dark Knight Rises, veteran actor Ben Mendelsohn will serve as the film's villain.
My three reasons Diego Luna is the right fit for Star Wars
- 1. He's a Mexican actor and we all know Star Wars champions diversity in their cast.
- 2. He's an excellent actor with a proven background.
- 3. He has a handsomeness to him that isn't overbearing. He is attractive not to a distracting degree.
This is awesome news, but sadly we do have a while to wait for this one... December 16, 2016 to be exact. What do you think of this casting decision?
But like, also, [Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens](tag:711158).
