Though Matthew Ziff won a Best Supporting Actor award at the Sunscreen Film Festival earlier this month - and saw the film in which he played Bo Whitlaw (the bullying character that is earning him accolades), "The Martial Arts Kid", win the "Best Florida Film" award, neither of those moments were the highlight of the event for him.
"It was a lot of fun and the panels were great", says Ziff. "I was really excited to see the crowd's reaction to 'The Martial Arts Kid..There were lots of laughs and applause from people".
T"he festival as a whole was A BLAST! Such a fun time", Ziff continues. "The films featured, such as 'The Man Who Saved The World' and 'Next Goal Wins', were incredible! Everyone involved with the festival works so hard to put on a great weekend every year and they (always) exceed expectations!
"The Martial Arts Kid" is co-headlined by martial arts/action-movie legends Cynthia Rothrock and Don "The Dragon" Wilson. Jansen Panettiere stars as the titular "Kid", Kathryn Newton plays his love interest and Matthew Ziff plays the bully who torments him.
"The Martial Arts Kid" is scheduled to hit theaters in late 2015.
