This star has been in movies like Gran Torino, Invictus, Trouble with the Curve, Chasing Mavericks, Texas Chainsaw 3D, Fury, and The Longest Ride. He's appeared on shows like Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. He's been in a number of shorts. And he's slated to be in Suicide Squad in an unspecified role (rumored to be Wonder Woman's boyfriend, Steve Trevor).
Don't know who I'm talking about still? Maybe this picture will help:
It's Clint Eastwood's son, everyone! Scott Eastwood!
Now, I don't know about you, but I didn't hear about Scott until this year. His name was thrown around for a few different rumors for upcoming movies, several fan casts, and with The Longest Ride (yet another Nicholas Sparks movie that my sisters wanted to see oh-so-badly) that came out earlier this year. I'm kind of surprised I haven't already heard of him.
First, he's Clint Eastwood's son. If that didn't put him on my map, I don't know what could've (actually, I do, it was the rumors of him being in Suicide Squad). Second, he's been acting since 2006. And just look at the list of movies he's been in so far. That's not all of the ones I found on IMDb. So why haven't I - no! - why haven't we heard of him before?
Honestly, I don't know. But I'm happy I do now. Because he is one great actor. But we shouldn't really be surprised. He's Clint Eastwood's son (I'm aware I said that three times now). Not only is he a good actor, but he's pretty grounded and decently funny.
Watch this video to see how he handles being used by random strangers to get girls (it's not as bad as it sounds).
Okay, so it is still bad, but it's only catfishing. Girlsare probably falling for this because not enough people know who Scott Eastwood is. Yet. This guy is going places, I'm telling you. Keep an eye on him.
If that video isn't proof enough that he's a great guy, check out this video of him on Jimmy Fallon promoting The Longest Ride.
Now, that video actually just showed that he's pretty awesome because he got to actually ride a bull. Don't know about you, but I think that's pretty cool. It's something I've never done. I rode a mechanical bull and landed on my feet, but that's not as cool as riding the actual bull. Not by a long shot.
This video (last one, I promise) shows how funny he is.
That scene had to have been awkward to shoot.
Clearly, Scott and Britt Robertson are very open and comfortable with each other and the scene, but it's still weird. And talking about it must be interesting. Despite all that, they're all laughing and joking and you can tell that this was a fun set to be on.
Scott Eastwood has some pretty big shoes to fill. He may not be looking to follow in his dad's footsteps, but he has entered that field. It's hard to ignore the obvious. But I think he's proven and will continue to prove that he is his own person and could've made it this far without the name.
Fun fact: he was afraid that the name would result in nepotism, so for a while he adopted his mother's last name, Reeves.
This year after The Longest Ride, which came out last month, Scott Eastwood is set to appear in Snowden, Mercury Plains, and Diablo. Next year he'll be in Suicide Squad and there are plenty more movies on the horizon for him.
