(Warning - potential SPOILERS for Captain America: Civil War lie below - so proceed with caution...)

When some of the first images from the Captain America: Civil War set leaked a few days back, there was more than a little speculation as to just what they meant - seeing as they very much seemed to show Chris Evans (a.k.a. Cap himself) and Emily VanCamp (a.k.a. Sharon Carter) attending a funeral.

The big fear that raised for some? That the funeral in question was for one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most popular characters.

Now, the most recently leaked images don't exactly quell those fears - but they do seem to tease the presence of two other heroes at the funeral in question, confirming that they at least won't be kicking the metaphorical bucket.

Black Widow Won't Be Dying

Which, in fairness, I think we were all pretty darned confident about - seeing as Scarlett Johansson's already been confirmed to have a major role all the way through Marvel's Phase 3.

What her appearance does suggest, though - seeing as at least some of them seem to be from the memorial in question - is that the only four main characters we're set to see at the funeral are Black Widow...

The aforementioned Cap and Sharon Carter...

And, crucially, Anthony Mackie's Falcon...

Which, it seems, may well confirm the identity of the deceased in question.

It Seems - as Suspected - Peggy Carter May Have Died

"Balls to that - I'm coming back as an ABC show..."

After all, the presence of Cap, Black Widow and Falcon - but not, seemingly, any other Avengers - suggests that it's a funeral pretty personal to one of them. After all, were it a memorial for those who died in the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier, there's a good chance Black Widow wouldn't be there, and that Sharon Carter would be wearing a uniform.

In fact, speaking of Sharon Carter - her very presence there suggests that the funeral is unlikely to be a more Avengers-themed affair...and that we're about to discover that she is, as in the comics, closely related to Peggy Carter.

(And, for that matter, to finally have it confirmed on screen that she is in fact Sharon Carter, which Captain America: The Winter Soldier very much didn't do...)

What do you think, though?
