So to bring the whole summer movie season to a close here are these August releases and whether or not you should see them
Fantastic 4- August 7th
So later this year we get ANOTHER superhero movie in the form of a Fantastic four reboot. This time we have Miles Teller (whiplash), Kate Mara (house of cards), Michael B. Jordan (Chronicle) and Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot) as the four that are (spoilers) fantastic. No one really gave this movie hope until the first trailer dropped a couple of months ago and now people are on board with this film. The cast is good and people seem to like the directors previous film "Chronicle" so perhaps this time around the Fantastic four film won't be a huge pile of shit.
The man from U.N.C.L.E- August 14th
I really don't know what to say about this film, I suppose it does have potential because I do like Henry Cavill despite not liking "Man of steel" and Guy Ritchie is an okayish director but the films does have an Australian playing an American and an American playing a Russian which is strange at least is my opinion. Now I don't hate Armie Hammer, he was good at playing a buff, spoiled douchebag twice in the Social network and I haven't seen the Lone ranger (who has?) so I have nothing against him at all, I just not gonna see his name on a movie poster and think that I should definitely see that film. I'm pretty sure that all this film really has to offer is the chance to see Henry Cavill as a rip-off of James Bond.
Straight outta Compton- August 14th
If you're a fan of their music (which I am) then this film about N.W.A is probably a definite watch. There is no doubt that the story of the group is interesting and would make a good film. I am worried that this film might kiss the asses of the group and make it seem like they were always in the right, also this film is directed by F. gary gary (yes there are 2 garys) whos last film was "law abiding citizen" so make of that what you will. A redeeming quality of this film is it's cinematographer Matthew Libatique who was Darren Aronofskys cinematographer on "Requiem for a dream" and "Noah" so at least the film will look great and the soundtrack should be pretty great too.
Verdict: see if you're a fan of N.W.A
Hitman: agent 47- August 21st
Okay I'll be quick. This movies gonna suck and they stole the Inception poster to boot
Maybe it's just me.
Sinister 2- August 21st
It's gonna be a shitty horror film except this time you don't get Ethan Hawke.
Verdict on the entire summer: Watch Mad Max: fury road as many times as you can before it leaves cinemas.
Thus concludes the entire summer movie season. You can check out the what I wrote about the summer films May-July on my page by clicking the thing next to the thing. Leave a comment below if you disagree or to mention any films I left out.
