It's no secret that dummies are pretty creepy. From Goosebumps' Night of the Living Dummy to more adult horror movies featuring dolls, dummies are just FREAKY.
Horror fans, you ain't seen nothin' yet. Meet the Syndaver: the synthetic patient. This is a fully animatronic, fully horrifying dummy of a person dying of terminal blood loss!
Now, the Syndaver was created for a totally noble and beautiful purpose: to allow doctors to train on a realistic 'body,' enabling them to hone their skills for when they need to intervene and save a twitching, dying person for real (YAY!).
So it's all good. But it's still damn creepy. Check it out.
Suitably freaked out yet? Look a little closer...
Synadaver breathes. It BREATHES.
It also jerks around helplessly!
Glassy, unseeing eyes? Check!
It mimics End Stage Hypovolaemic Shock! Whatever that is. Uh, is there a doctor in the house?
Maybe if Dexter had had one of these guys to play with, he wouldn't have ended up so weird... It's great that technology is advanced enough to create these vital practicing tools for the medical profession, but would YOU wanna be left alone with one of these rubbery little guys?
