Over the past 10 years, we have had many comic book and super hero stories come to film. In this post, I would like to express my favorites in Marvel, DC and any other comic that have been the best in my opinion.

10. Batman Begins (2005)

This was the film that may have started it all. Batman Begins brought us a whole new Batman and a whole look on Bruce Wayne. Christopher Nolan was able to bring us a beautiful film with amazing action to help kick off a whole new genre of super-hero films. Casting Bale was perfection to play the titular character. It was an amazing start to an amazing trilogy.

9. Iron Man 3 (2013)

Now, I may take some heat for this one. But I personally loved Iron Man 3. The whole twist with the Mandarin was a little weird. But personally, this is the funniest entry in the franchise and has the best action sequences. This movie feels hokey at points, but it makes you laugh and it also makes you feel for Tony Stark as he is still going through the after effects of what happened in New York in the Avengers. Strong acting and great sequences make this my Number 9.

8. Kick-Ass (2010)

Whew. What a surprise this film was. The action in this movie is good enough to make this list alone. Hit Girl is one of the greatest comic book characters ever brought to screen. She was also cast perfectly by Chloe-Grace Moretz. Nicholas Cage nails it as Big Daddy. One of his greatest roles to date (he has had a lot of stinkers lately). I remember having an absolute ball in the theater when I went and saw this film. It's funny, distasteful, heroic, violent and fun as hell all at the same time. What more do you need?

7. Avengers: Age Of Ultron (2015)

Summer started with a bang this year. Age of Ultron is already busting box office records, but hasn't quite lived up to its predecessor. This movie is a ton of fun. It's honestly funnier than the first film. The action is just as jam packed as the first one. Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and Vision are all awesome new characters to be introduced. And Ultron is a very cool villain. It really shuts out phase two of the Marvel films greatly. We get a lot more character development with Hawkeye and other Avengers which brings depth to the franchise. It is definitely one of the greatest comic book movies of the past 10 years. One thing that annoyed me here though was Thor. He seemed absent from the movie lots of the time. What's up with that?

6. Iron Man (2008)

This film brought many questions among its release. First off, we had Robert Downey Jr. starring as the Iron Man himself. Many people were skeptical. But man does he crush it. He nails this role. He was born to be Iron Man. If the world were to honestly have a real life Iron Man, I would not accept anyone operating that suit besides RDJ. He is and forever will be Iron Man. End of story. This film really put Marvel on the map and gave us all the great Marvel films that we have been luckily enough to see today. So thank you Iron Man for being so great. We are all very appreciative.

5. The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

Rise. That is what Batman sure as hell did in this epic adventure. When Gotham was without all hope under Bane's terrors, Batman literally climbed and rose from the pit of hell to save his city and his people. People complain about Bane in this film. Mainly because of the way he speaks. But I personally thought it was awesome. Tom Hardy was greatly cast. He stole the show. Thank you Christopher Nolan for giving us such a treat.

4. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

Talk about a ball coming out of right field. This movie was fantastic. It did not really have that much hype and ended up being the biggest surprise of 2014. Its hilarious. Marvels funniest film to date. The action is over the top and the cast is perfection especially Chris Pratt as Starlord. Rocket Raccoon is now honestly my favorite Marvel character. How can you not love a medically experienced on Raccoon who can talk, shoot guns and insult you? Yeah he's pretty great. Very much anticipating the sequel.

3. The Avengers (2012)

This was the first time we ever got to see all of these mighty heroes on screen together. And boy it was awesome! Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow and the leader Nick Fury all on screen. How can this not be one of the greatest super-hero movies of all time? It for sure is and we are truly blessed for Joss Whedon and his amazing directorial skills.

2. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

This movie really entertained me. This is personally my favorite Marvel movie. It is so well done. It is the first time I have sat through a super-hero film and felt as if I was watching a spy thriller. It is that good. The Winter Soldier is awesome. Captain America has really become my favorite Avenger after this film. I could not praise this film more. I absolutely loved it.

1. The Dark Knight (2008)

This is the best comic book/ super-hero film of all time in my opinion. Heath Ledger's Joker is one of my all time favorite performances. And the movie is perfect. I saw this movie 4 times in theaters. That is how much I loved it. I own the Blu-Ray and watch it all the time. This is my second favorite movie of all time. Sad that the Christopher Nolan trilogy of Batman is over. But he gave us this amazing film with one of the greatest performances of all time. Thank you Christopher Nolan for giving us not the trilogy that we all want, but the trilogy that we all need.

I am hoping you guys liked my list. Please let me know in the comments what some of your favorite comic book movies were over the last decade and what you thought of my list!
