I remember when we first published the images of The Falcon in the run up to Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It seems some Marvel purists among the readership were not too happy with his reimagining for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Out was the red spandex, wing-suit and ability to telepathically control birds, and in was a United States Air Force Pararescue veteran, an EXO-7 Falcon wing pack and a pair of sub-machine guns.
I think the widespread positive reception of Joe and Anthony Russo's Captain America sequel effectively silenced any remaining dissent regarding Falcon, who has since become an important member of the Avengers. Now Anthony Mackie is currently reviving a souped up version of the character for Captain America: Civil War.
Yesterday we got the first look at Falcon, Captain America and Crossbones suited up on set in Georgia, but today we get to see Falcon kicking ass in mid-air. Mackie (or potentially a stunt double) was filmed conducting a wire stunt on the 'African market' set currently being used in Atlanta, Georgia. Check it out below:
Currently, Captain America: Civil War is expected in theaters from May 6, 2016.
