Arguably, despite your Studio Ghibli's, the seminal Akira and Ghost In The Shell, Dragon Ball Z is easily one of the most influential Japanese animations to have ever travelled to the west.

Kids would rush home from school to watch as the muscular deus ex machina Son Goku would spend entire episodes traveling to battle, while his comrades would be getting their butts handed to them, every time. Despite that little annoyance, the show was absolutely phenomenal and its legacy lives on today.

The same can't be said for the majority of its games though. Barring a few of the Budokai brawlers, the games were slightly lackluster, which is why I guess a team of Japanese modders have been toiling away to create what could be the definitive Dragon Ball Z beat-em-up...using none other than Super Smash Bros. Brawl of course!

Super Smash Bros. has been inundated with hacks and mods since its inaugural release, a few of the most popular being the "20XX Hack Pack" for SSB Melee and SSB Brawl has "Brawl+" & "Brawl-."

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAASS!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAASS!

These mods would change the gameplay, mechanics and visage of the cutesy brawlers, but Super Smash Bros. Brawl Z goes even further and adds the entire cast list of DBZ into the game and their signature move sets. Yes, that includes Goku's Spirit Bomb, amongst many other gems:

Created by YouTuber インD MARK-2, these series of videos showcase the huge list of characters form the seminal series, including Perfect Cell, Kid Buu, Teen Gohan and many others.

What do you make of that?

Smash Bros. has instantly been made that much more necessary to me now. Any iteration of the damn game! But if you like what you've seen, head over to インD MARK-2 for more videos and...possibly the download link...?
