This is kind of early, but we already know that Tron 3 is right now in development. A lot is still in preparation, but who says we can't get a head start?
Now here's what we already know:
The release is set for 2017
Now as of right now, there is no official title for it. Right now it's labeled as Untitled Tron: Legacy Sequel. And along with that, this movie has tough acts to follow. First, we've got the Gargoyles movie coming that year, the first part of Justice League, then there's [Thor: Ragnarok](tag:956858), then Avatar 2 (which, by the way, is yet another movie still in development along with Gargoyles), and Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe re-telling of the age old superhero Spider-Man, and Star Wars Episode VIII (or whatever they plan to call it because they won't actually title it Episode VIII), then Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tells No Tales, the possible Toy Story 4, Beauty and the Beast, and, lastly, Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to this year's novel-based Fifty Shades of Grey.
We're going to see a lot in 2017, for certain. And, like I said, these are some hard acts for Tron 3 to follow. So they're really going to have to buckle down if they're going to get anywhere past some of the fumbles that were made in Tron: Legacy. No offense, really, I truly felt there was a lot of good things said, but not too much for it to end on a absolutely good note.
The film will focus on Quorra's adventure in the real world
If you can think all the way back to 2010, you should remember that Quorra (played by Olivia Wilde) was this sort of wide-eyed, adventurous character that Kevin Flynn took in during his adventures trapped in the Grid. He became a guide to her, a master to her apprentice if you will. He introduced her to the real world. Things like books, food, and everything else. We can only imagine what she will encounter now that she's actually in the real world, free from the tyranny of Clu 2.0. But you have to wonder, what kind of a threat will she deal with in the real world? Is it possible for a new threat from the digital world will somehow find a way to the real world? I guess we'll have to wait and find out.
Another question comes to mind though:
Will Daft Punk have another opportunity at a cameo?
If you remember, the famous French electronic group Daft Punk had a brief cameo in Tron: Legacy as digital DJs at Caster's club. Not only that, but they also had a strong role in composing the soundtrack for the movie.
It's most likely they'll once again compose the score for the movie, but their cameo might not come to be. But sometimes cameos just happen. It's just like Stan Lee in the MCU movies. You don't know where he's going to be or when he's going to show up. You eventually spot him eventually. Same probably goes for these guys.
So, I guess we're going to expect a lot. But this is just, I guess, what you would call a precognition or maybe just getting my hopes up. Either way, I'm glad I could share my thoughts with everyone here at MoviePilot. So, maybe in the coming months, maybe before the year is out, we'll know a lot more about what to expect in TRON 3. Until then........
Don't forget to leave me a comment and tell me what do you think will happen in this movie! Don't get de-rezzed!
