Mining through the IMDb pages of the Harry Potter franchise is like looking through a yearbook for a British version that Fame high school, nearly everyone listed has made a major name for themselves in the entertainment industry. From Emma Thompson to Robert Pattinson, it's talented A-lister after A-lister.
Over the course of the eight films, there were plenty of smaller roles filled by some familiar faces.
Almost as if Gilderoy Lockheart performed a quick memory charm, here are a few recognizable actors whose roles in Harry Potter may have have slipped your mind:
1. Mrs Granger – Michelle Fairley
You know them as: Catelyn Stark (Game of Thrones) and Margot Al-Harazi ([24: Live Another Day](tag:951373))
2. Aragog – Julian Glover
You know them as: Grand Maester Pycelle (Game of Thrones), Triopas (Troy) and Walter Donovan (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade)
3. Bill Weasley – Domhnall Gleeson
You know them as: Caleb (Ex Machina), Jon Burroughs (Frank), and Tim (About Time)
4. Griphook – Verne Troyer
You know them as: Mini-Me (Austin Powers) and Percy (The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus)
*To clarify, Verne Troyer only played Griphook in Sorcerer's Stone. The character was played by Warwick Davis in Deathly Hallows Parts 1&2.
5. Madam Rosmerta – Julie Christie
You know them as: Lara (Doctor Zhivago), Mrs. Emma du Maurier (Finding Neverland), and Clarisse/Linda Montag (Fahrenheit 451)
6. Weird Sisters Lead Guitar – Jonny Greenwood
You know them as: The lead guitarist and keyboard player from Radiohead.
7. Dobby – Toby Jones
You know them as: Claudius Templesmith (The Hunger Games), Dr. Arnim Zola (Captain America), and Arthur Jacobs (My Week with Marilyn)
8. Unnamed Gryffindor Student – Julianne Hough
You know them as: Ariel Moore (Footloose) and a Dancing with the Stars champion turned judge.
9. Lee Jordan – Luke Youngblood
You know them as: Magnitude "Pop Pop" (Community) and Sid (Galavant)
10. Young Gellert Grindelwald – Jamie Campbell Bower
You know them as: Caius (Twilight), Jace (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones), and Anthony (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street)
No matter how small their roles were (shoutout to you, Julianne Hough), I would have given anything to even have the smallest part in one of the Harry Potter movies. Oh well, maybe there will be a spot for me in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them!
