The movie Independence Day is pretty much a pure representation of how I would want an alien attack to be dealt with and handled. Was it arguably Will Smith's most defining role? Was the White House explosion the most iconic scene in sci-fi movie history; or at least alien attack movie history? These are questions that nobody has the definitive answer to, but at the very least, they are posable.
So, as you might assume from this introduction, I am into the idea of the new Independence Day 2 movie also known as ID4. As far as the name ID4, I am not sure about it, but what I am sure of is that this will be a hit. How do I know this? Well, there are several cast members returning for the movie. It's going to be a nostalgia-filled dream cast and will probably act as an homage to the first film.
So, take a look at the cast members (that we currently know of) who will be returning to the franchise.
President Thomas J. Whitmore will be returning for the new version of the film, hopefully more knowledgeable and prepared for what I'm sure will be an even crazier situation.
Dr. Brakish Okun is also coming back for the role. Whether or not he'll have the same wacky hair is still up for debate/unknown.
When I heard that Jeff Goldblum was returning as David Levinson I had two thoughts:
- 1. Will Smith, what are you doing? Get your ass back in the game!
- 2. Thank you Jeff. You are a noble man.
Judd Hirsch is returning to the film as well, and he'll do so as Julius Levinson. I can still recall his line...
"It's Air Force One, for crying out loud, and still he gets sick!"
Vivica A. Fox
Vivica is back, and first let me say, she is strikingly beautiful especially considering she's 50 years old! Wow, that's hard to believe. Anyway... she'll be returning as Jasmine Dubrow for the new film.
BONUS/FINGERS CROSSED: Will Smith
I don't know if it's possible, but if it is at all in the cards, I hope that Will Smith will make this happen. At LEAST give me a cameo or something! Man...
This movie, though... TOO good!
