On February 13, 2015, a teaser for the upcoming TV Series, Scream Queens was been uploaded to the series' official channel. It was followed by more teasers featuring the stars of the series blowing bubblegum with a devil's face outlined on it. This caused hype among TV viewers and fans of Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy's television series' like Glee and American Horror Story.
The pilot episode will be airing in September 2015. Pretty long time, right? Well, here are ten things about the series that are known so far to quench your thirst for this upcoming horror-comedy anthology series!
1. The first season will be centered on the Kappa Sorority that is rocked by a series of murders.
From this first one, we can already infer that this series will be a teenage hit! A college setting, a star-studded cast, and comedy-horror, what kind of a teenager wouldn't want to watch that?
Also, we can say that there will be lots of catfights that will happen here because of the fact that it will center around a Girl Sorority. More like a horror-version of Glee!
2. There will be at least one major or recurring character death in every episode.
"It’s very much like Ten Little Indians. There’s a real tune-in factor because it’s like, Who’s going to be picked off this week? And also who is the killer? Every episode, you get clues as to who the killer is going to be and then all of these clues accumulate." -Murphy
Cool, right? There will surely be horror, lots of blood, and dark humor.
3. It will include a star-studded cast
The cast includes AHS actress Emma Roberts, Halloween star Jamie Lee Curtis, Glee actress Lea Michele, Zombieland actress Abigail Breslin, and Wizards of Waverly Place star Skyler Samuels. Not to forget, it also includes SNL Comedian Nasim Pedrad, Keke Palmer, Billie Lourd and Oliver Hudson. Just reading these names make me very excited for the pilot episode!
4. It's Mean Girls meets Friday The 13th
In a recent interview, Emma Roberts stated that:
"I think it’s just the perfect blend of horror, comedy, fashion. It’s kind of the dream show. I remember saying to Ryan, 'I thank you for casting me in this because if you didn’t I would be so mad at you because I love it so much.' It’s Mean Girls meets Friday the 13th. I think it’s laugh-out-loud funny, it’s edge-of-your-seat scary and everyone is wearing Chanel. What other reasons do you need?
Expect glamour, gore, and girls (and blood... and more blood).
5. The murderer will wear a red-faced devil mask
Talk about a good costume. This gives a trademark appeal to the antagonist to make sure that the whole series will be memorable. No more holes or leather skin or that disgustingly bloody clown make up!
6. The main protagonist will be Grace
Grace is portrayed by Skyler Samuels in the story. She will join the Kappa Sorority to feel close to her mom who died when she was really little. Talk about a legacy.
7. Lea Michele gets a total transformation
No more diva talks or singing numbers. The Lea Michele featured in this series is a girl with scoliosis who wears a neckbrace and is a rival to Chanel.
8. Emma Roberts' character won't come far from her character in AHS: Coven
Remember that Madison Montgomery girl from American Horror Story: Coven? Witty lines, your-typical bitch attitude. It's the same for her character in Scream Queens which is Chanel Oberlin. Because honestly? Who else can do it other than Emma Roberts?
9. Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas are both in this series
In January 2015, it was announced that these two will be in the series. Now, these two are not new to television series so we will expect a lot from them!
10. The first season's killer will not be revealed UNTIL THE LAST EPISODE
This is some new stuff from Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, right? This will really help in character development and suspense. This may also help the problem with their directing (bad story pacing) and will also make the series better.
