Season six of The Vampire Diaries might have just ended, but it seems like the storylines for the next installment of our fave CW drama are already in the works.
Both executive producer, Caroline Dries and showrunner, Julie Plec have been speaking out to press to plant seeds of curiosity about what season seven will bring and some of the potential storylines certainly sound intriguing...
The first tidbit that has been released revolves around Damon's relationship status and anyone looking forward to seeing him strip off in some bedroom scenes might be a bit disappointed, Caroline Dries explained that:
"Damon's still in love with her [Elena], It's not like he's going to start sleeping around or having girlfriends. He needs to grieve, and see who he is. Any girl we set him up with, or we tried to force him into a new relationship with, the fans would just hate it—hate her, for sure—so it would just never click. We're very much aware of that, and we don't want to see that either."
As we all suspected, it seems like Lily Salvatore and the Heretics will play a big part in the upcoming season of The Vampire Diaries. Julie Plec elaborated on the potential plot, and it seems like Enzo might finally get his time in the spotlight this season, she told TV Online that:
"He’s [Enzo] eventually going to have to choose a side. In some ways, he feels drawn to Lily; she turned him and she’s the only real family he has. But he’s also friends with Damon, so it’s going to create an interesting dilemma, and whichever side he chooses will have serious ramifications."
