This week, on the season finale of The Flash, Barry Allen traveled through time in an effort to save his mother and to prevent his dad from enduring a life in prison. That's all well and good, until one ponders the fallout of such actions.
But, it sounds as though multiple timelines is something fans will see as The Flash moves into its second season, and beyond, this coming Fall.
"What's fun about this show is that there's going to be multiple timelines as we move forward," Gustin says. "I think we're going to start showing Earth-One and Earth-Two in the near future. There will be kind of different dimensions going on."
Introducing multiple timelines on the show would open it to some wild possibilities. Will we see new takes on Barry Allen? Is Jay Garrick set to make an appearance? Only time will tell, but, following the events of tonight's season finale, we're guessing there's a pretty good chance of stuff like that happening as the show moves forward into Season 2.
Does this mean future crossover episodes are set to get a little more complicated? Possibly, but Carlos Valdes doesn't seem too worried about it. "It gets a little Rubik's Cube-y in terms of keeping consistency between all these timelines and whatnot," Valdes says. "But the writers have their stuff together. If I were to trust anyone, it would be them."
Sounds good to us, Carlos.
