'Portraits of the Dark Knight' is my personal 3D project inspired by The Dark Knight trilogy. I've been a Batman fan since I was young and have watched all Batman films, including the early animation series. After reviewing Christopher Nolan's epic Caped Crusader trilogy, I decided to make this superhero in 3D. It is my first time making 3D characters, and it took me around 2 weeks to complete the project. I was trying to approach a photorealistic style of fan art and expressing my own feelings about this fearless character.

Portraits of The Dark Knight is my personal 3D project inspired by The Dark Knight trilogy. I've been a Batman fan since I was young and have watched all Batman films including the early animation series. After reviewing Christopher Nolan's epic Caped Crusader trilogy, I decided to make the beloved superhero in 3D. It is my first time making 3D characters, and it took me around 2 weeks to complete the project. I was trying to approach the look with a photorealistic style of fan art while expressing my own feelings about this fearless character.

Caped Crusader

I was learning ZBrush during the time, so I thought this could be a good opportunity to create some of my own stuff in the program. I started with sculpting the head, and then sculpted several versions of the mask. The one I used in the final rendering is my favorite, which implied the mood of the character. The model was then imported into Cinema 4D for retopology.

When retopology is done, it was imported back to ZBrush for adding skin details like pores and wrinkles. After that, the skin texture was manually painted in ZBrush, and the eyes were painted in Photoshop. Finally, the model and all the maps were set up in Cinema 4D for the final rendering and then I added some finishing touches in Photoshop.

It was a really fun project. I hope all Batman fans enjoy this series of 3D works.
