Many movie fans often wonder where their favorite scenes in movies were shot. What is the precise fast food joint where Jesse and Heisenberg sat in pretending to be in Pollos Hermanos, or in which buildings did the cast of Harry Potter roam around pretending to be in Hogwarts? While some fans rely on a quick search for the answer, two girls decided to make it their traveling goal to visit these filming locations, well known or off the map, and compare them to what they saw in the films.
It all started back in 2013 when three Finnish girls decided to go on a road trip all over the United Kingdom. After 2,000 miles and 5,000 photographs, one of the girls decided to post the pictures in her blog, including some artistic shots of the scenery. The pictures quickly caught on and soon two of the girls, Tia and Satu, started their own blog FanGirl Quest where they post about discovering the world through films and scene framing popular pictures to the location.

FanGirl Quest has visited the locations in England where Les Miserables was filmed – not in France - and also the streets and building where Benedict Cumberbatch walked around as Sherlock. They have also posted about a Game of Thrones trip to Ireland, demonstrating with their iPads and phones where characters of Westeros came alive in the rustic surroundings.

The have also travelled over to the US, finding the different locations for Doctor Who, Forrest Gump when he went on his run across the country, and the cities used to film Avengers.
Actors and filmmakers take their viewers on a journey with the stories they portray and now the fans find their way to these places, traveling and capturing the realness in the fiction we all know and love.
