If I had to pick one show that taught me the most about life, confidence, and above all other things, friendship, there's no better choice than Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I remember obsessively seeking out the DVD seasons as soon as they were released, trying to explain to my grandma just how important the girl with a killer's gift was to me.
The support and rapport of the Scooby Gang was something that my young self wanted more than anything. There was absolutely no one cooler than Buffy, Willow, and Xander. Even when the characters felt like they were just "going through the motions," I was hoping that one day I'd meet a group exactly like them.
Now that it's been over a decade since the show's finale, you'd think I'd have grown up to abandon this friend crush.
Thanks to the ongoing friendship between Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan, however, I will never have to! This week, Buffy and Willow have reunited for the birthday of Hannigan's daughter Keeva.
It's like no time (or apocalypses) have passed at all!
They haven't changed one bit! Seriously, this looks like it could easily have been taken during Season 4. And now, I'm lamenting the fact that Buffy didn't exist in the age of social media, where we could have seen constant selfies like these from the set. Here's how SMG captioned the adorable shot:
So this girl (#AlysonHannigan) and her husband (#AlexisDenisof) know how to throw a party. I thought I was good with the crafts, till I went to this party #CraftMaster Thanks for having the #PrinzeFamily I've never seen a farm and pony rides in Santa Monica before #NowIveSeenItAll
Noted craftmaster, Alyson Hannigan also made her friend and former co-star an impressive balloon animal to take home.
I'm just going to go ahead and pretend that these are the kinds of lives that Willow and Buffy get to lead now that they're a bit older. Yes, I know that there are "Season 8" comics that refute this, but those girls deserve a bit of fun (and crafts!).
My favorite part about this get-together is how much these two share their love for their newfound artsy hobby. Here they are earlier this month discussing how the store Michael's is to them as the Hellmouth was too vampires:
Now, if only Giles and Anya had made guest appearances, I would start belting "I've Got a Theory" from my rooftop.
