Resident Evil Zero is confirmed in HD for Xbox One, PS4 and PC as well as last gen consoles. The Resident Evil Prequel is being remastered!
Earlier today at an event in Japan, Capcom confirmed that they will be releasing the remastered edition of the popular prequel to the original title in the Resident Evil series. Resident Evil 0 or Biohazard 0 HD Remaster in Japan, will be remastered in full HD and adapted for cross platform release.
As you may recall, Capcom have already remastered and released Resident Evil HD, which was in fact the remake of 2002's Resident Evil. This 2002 edition however was actually the GameCube version of the 1996 Resident Evil, released on PlayStation - slightly confusing, I know.
The original Director, Koji Oda and staff are returning to help develop and produce this new remastered version. The original Resident Evil Zero was released in 2002 exclusively on the GameCube.
Resident Evil 0 takes us through horrific ordeals experienced by Bravo Team of S.T.A.R.S in the Arklay Mountains. We play as either officer Rebecca Chambers or convict Billy Coen. Resident Evil 0 differs from the other Resident Evil titles in the way in which players can instantly swap between protagonists at any point during gameplay to solve puzzles, beat down zombies and to generally take advantage of their individually unique abilities.
The release of Resident Evil HD was hugely popular, this edition sold over a million copies, which set a new record for day one digital sells on the PlayStation Network. This was more than enough reason for Capcom to initiate the development of Resident Evil Zero Remastered.
Here is the official reveal. This is what Producer Tsukasa Takenaka and Director Koji Oda have to say about the project.
