Production for Suicide Squad is indeed underway. The film about the supervillain team will making its way to theaters in the summer of 2016, and it will play a part in the DC Cinematic Universe. For the past few weeks, Suicide Squad has been in the forefront of several news stories; and this week is no exception. New footage from the film's set have revealed some new content such as an affected soldier. However what stands out in this update was not infected soldier, but rather a particular car driving throughout the streets.

As you can see, making an appearance in the film is none other then the Dark Knight's iconic car: the Batmobile. Batman's primary vehicle will be making an appearance in Batman v.Superman: Dawn of Justice which hits theaters on March 25, 2016; but anticipated blockbuster will not be its only ride in 2016. The video features the Batmobile in hot pursuit as it chases after another car that is likely being driven by the Joker (then again I am just speculating).

With the appearance of the Batmobile in Suicide Squad it raises one question: will Batman appear in the upcoming film? It has been speculated that the Dark Knight could show up in this upcoming film; with Ben Affleck no doubt returning to play the character. However, everything is still up in the air. For all we know, the only thing we see of Batman in Suicide Squad is just the Batmobile. You cannot help but think the latest footage guarantees an appearance from the Caped Crusader.

While Batman's screen time has yet to be determine, the fact that the Batmobile will be presence in Suicide Squad certainly brings a new factor to the upcoming film. If there were any doubt that Batman v.Superman was no connected to a movie like Suicide Squad, any concerns can be put to rest. Yet whether or not Batman has a part to play in the story or the Dark Knight's car will just be in one scene has yet to be determine; and we probably will not know that answer until we get closer to Suicide Squad's release. Until then, all we can do is wait and see what other reveals this film has in store for moviegoers.

Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 6, 2016.
