As everyone who loves Video Games has recently heard, CD Projekt RED's The Witcher 3 is an RPG masterpiece. I haven't been so engaged with a massive open world in a very long time and of course, Bloodborne doesn't really count in this respect. 2014 was saturated with open world games to the point where I really couldn't stomach anymore of them. But let me say that The Witcher 3 is every great open world game of 2014 in one.
However, while I wander through this beautiful landscape as Geralt of Rivia, I can't help but think fondly of Snake and Hideo Kojima. Geralt has your standard deep voice for any male white guy that video games are plagued with nowadays. However, he often goes into Solid Snake territory with how gritty and harsh his voice becomes. Naturally, this has gotten me extremely excited to see how Kojima's Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain is shaping up, but one aspect in particular has me rather hyped!
The Witcher 3 Just Got Me Hyped for Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid 5
Over the past few months we've seen the madness that is Konami's campaign to destroy their name in the video game industry forever. They are burning every single bridge as they seem to recoil from the development of interactive entertainment. We've seen Konami destroy Silent Hills, refuse to pick up awards for Hideo Kojima and generally make the gaming community hate them - Metal Gear Solid 5 will be the last thing I'll buy from them!
But seeing as my job dictates that I spend a great deal of time engrossed in the world of video games, I pass my time on big gaming publication sites, various YouTube personalities pages, but also on the glorious land of Reddit. It's the community that has shunned Konami I'm most excited for. If you go and check out The Witcher 3 subreddit right now, you'll see a beautiful sight, especially if you are playing the game. There are mountains of posts with questions, videos, glitches, stories and more and I personally cannot wait to see that happen with Metal Gear Solid 5!
[Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain](tag:2683985) is going to be an absolutely massive open world adventure. Riding around on the back of Geralt's horse has me so excited to see how the great Hideo Kojima has decided to tackle this framework. I'll be sure to spend much time on Reddit soaking in other player's experiences of Kojima's last venture into the land of Metal Gear Solid!
