Thanks to the wonderful minds at Moviepilot, we were given the interesting task of creating our own twist on the Suicide Squad filling it with our own personal choices of villainous intent. An interesting concept, that took me through so many different villains until I broke it down to what would make for an unbeatable team, and I came up with the 4 key traits, or jobs if you will, for a villain team to function at its most effective.

  • The Sorcerer
  • The Killer
  • The Assassin
  • The Brute Force

So with those four jobs in mind, these are the 4 members of my Suicide Squad.

If you don't know the name, then you should check out The Blackest Night series from DC. Nekron was introduced as the living embodiment of Death and ruler of the Dead Zone. Nekron is seen as the physical embodiment of darkness itself to fight against life. As his story unfolded it was revealed that the Black Lanterns were instigated by Nekron himself. He has the power to kill and raise the dead with his touch, can send fire bolts and black lightning as well as grow to near limitless proportions. Along with those powers, Nekron has can warp reality and fight against universal forces. So, power over life and death, fire and lightning in my books make for a pretty badass sorcerer.

AMEE (Autonomous Mapping Exploration and Evasion) is a military robot from the movie Red Planet with Val Kilmer (which also happens to be my film). AMEE has mechanical anatomy resembling a feline of sorts, but has the enhanced speed, strength and agility thanks to her double-jointed limbs. She has two main modes: Navigation & Combat, both of which come in handy when it comes to being a part of this team. In Navigation mode, AMEE can map trajectories as well as release an aerial drone to help with reconnaissance. In Combat mode is where her true killer comes out. Equipped with bladed extremities which along with her feline-esque mobility turns AMEE into a deadly weapon. AMEE also is programmed with various combat techniques as well as guerrilla tactics. All of these pieces leave little question that AMEE is a killing machine.

"You can call me V." Subjected to horrific hormone injection experimentation has altered V's capacities- developing enhanced strength, reflexes and his overall physiology allowing him to master swordplay, martial arts and marksmanship. Although he is believed to have been warped by the experimentation, he seems to have a sound if not twisted logic. Along with his enhanced muscular abilities, his brain is almost more interesting. V is a brilliant tactician as well as controlling genius level expertise over explosives, philosophy, chemisty, computer hacking and an overall expanded mental capacity. Which in turn allows him to plot and prepare for his kills, making them more lethal. All in all this leaves V as the unquestioned assassin of the team.

Born into a prison system that decreed he would serve out his father's life sentence. During his childhood and adolescence, Bane developed his natural abilities and developed extraordinary skills. As he grew, he became established as the 'King" of the prison, ultimately leading the prison controllers to subject him to the drug known as 'Venom'. Through his exposure to venom, it augments his strength and healing abilities to superhuman levels. Even without using the Vemon agent, Bane is incredibly strong as he invented his own form of calisthenics, meditation and fighting style during his time in prison. Bane is also the unequivocal leader of the team as he is extremely devious as well as being a strategist and brilliant tacticianer. Through his time in prison he spent his spare time devouring books and studying leaving him with knowledge on various sciences equal to current leading experts in the fields, as well as being fluent in 6 languages. Without a doubt Bane is the strongest leader the team could have.

There you have it, my redesigned suicide squad of four.
