Nerves are high, palms are sweating. Breathing has suddenly become such a strenuous task. Professor McGonagall calls out your name. You shakily walk up to the stool on which the Sorting Hat is placed.
As you approach the front of the Great Hall, McGonagall lifts up the Sorting Hat and places it on your head. You skittishly crumble onto the stool. You wait as the Sorting Hat speaks in your ears, determining which house you will belong to.
As stressful as this tradition may be, the Sorting Hat is never wrong and usually takes your desires into consideration. It is also comforting to know that our favorite celebrities would probably feel just anxious as they anticipated the Sorting Hat's decision.
Can you guess which house these celebrities would have been sorted into? Let's see how superb your sorting skills are...
1. Andrew Garfield
Listen to any interview with Garfield, and you'll notice his impressive vocabulary. He sounds like a Merriam-Webster Dictionary. He also claims to be incredibly self-aware and critical, which could mean he has a bit of a type A personality.
2. Aziz Ansari
Ansari is funny, strong, a Feminist, and loyal to his girlfriend. He can be a little loud and talkative, but hey. There's nothing wrong with being the center of attention.
Queen B is the top of her class. She has trained insanely hard in dancing, singing, and acting. She never let anything hold her back, even breaking from Destiny's Child, going solo, and becoming one of the top artists in the world. She is a cunning business woman, as she has her own clothing and perfume line. This woman is one strong force of nature!
4. Channing Tatum
Tatum is adventurous with sports, travel, and food. He is kind and caring to his wife and kid. And he loves to show off his phenomenal dance moves!
5. Chris Pratt
Chris Pratt is the man who you can count on to make you laugh. He is an incredibly loving father and husband, he works hard on any film he is cast in, and he gives off an insanely friendly vibe.
6. Emma Stone
Stone is up to date on fashion, online trends, and although friendly, is a very matter-of-fact woman. Have you listened to her quick banter? She is honest, as well as smarter than just completely telling everyone about her private life, especially her rumored relationship with Andrew Garfield. This woman is an Oscar-nominee, and using her wit, she will continue to climb the ladder of success.
7. Jennifer Lawrence
JLaw might not be the most graceful (how many times has she tripped while accepting an award?), but she has a good heart, is still friends with people she knew before she became famous, and is incredibly real, like when she discussed the fact that she'd rather be healthy than skinny.
8. Emma Watson
Watson is a Brown graduate. She works alongside the U.N. as a Goodwill Ambassador, is a badass feminist, and holds herself incredibly well during interviews and speeches. Somehow she is able to obsessively journal, act, and change the world all at the same time.
9. Kanye West
Kanye West sure does spark a lot of controversy, but deep down he is actually a very kind person. He has his moments where he can act big-headed, but he also can admit his faults and apologize for his mistakes. He is very talented, has a lot of courage to sometimes say what we are all thinking, and he genuinely cares about his fans. Plus, he is a very caring father and husband.
10. Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber has had his Draco Malfoy moments, where he has acted like quite the little brat. He has dangerously drag raced on suburban streets, he has peed into a mop bucket, and he has defaced public property with spray paint while visiting different countries. It seems that Bieber is starting to turn a new leaf by apologizing for his reckless behavior and getting back into his music career, just as Malfoy realizes the errors of his ways as he matures.
11. Johnny Depp
Depp sure is a charmingly odd man. He is quiet and out of the spotlight for the most part, but when he's on screen, he can transform into some of the most interesting and unique characters. He is kind and caring, and while his relationship with Vanessa Paradis ended, it did last for fourteen years, showing that he is in general a very loyal and caring partner. He is very loving when it comes to his children.
12. Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian will stop at nothing to gain more fortune and fame. From a sex tape to clothing stores and various other business ventures, Kardashian will do whatever it takes to rise to the top, whether she is liked or not.
13. Paul Walker
From a young age, Walker stole the spotlight with his charming looks, first appearing as an actor in a Pampers commercial. Walker continued on with his acting career, and became the star of The Fast and Furious series. Did I mention Walker was completely immersed in his philanthropy work? Even on the unfortunate day he died, Walker was at a charity event. R.I.P., Paul Walker.
14. Kirsten Stewart
We all know Stewart to be slightly awkward when it comes to the amount of attention she gets. A little quiet and a little surly, Stewart claims she never thought of being in the spotlight as an actress, but rather fell into it, and instead initially wanted to work behind the scenes as a screenwriter/director. Stewart is relaxed, yet hard-working. And she is fair, as she views men and women as equals, with no preference to gender when it comes to dating.
15. Michelle Rodriguez
Michelle Rodriguez isn't a woman who is afraid of the spotlight. She lives her life courageously, with a give no crap attitude. She aims to be the voice of women who aren't your typical girly girls in pink. She dates women, she dates men, and is very open about her destructive behavior post Walker's death.
16. Robert Downey Jr.
Robert Downey Jr. has had his bad boy streak, as he was involved with heavy drugs and alcohol. He can have a bit of a temper that will sometimes flare up drastically. It is also rumored that Downey will no longer work on any indie film in which he would act in as a favor, as he feels he is beyond that stage as an actor.
17. Scarlett Johansson
Johansson is incredibly sexy, but that's not all. She is also incredibly intelligent. She has really worked on keeping her private life out of the spotlight. During interviews, she composes herself as a very level-headed, classy, and gracious person. She is a huge advocate for therapy, and even goes to therapy when she's happy and content. Even from a young age, Johansson has shown such depth and maturity in her roles, meaning she's had the wise markings of a Ravenclaw since day one.
18. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
The Rock is much like a rock. Tough, hard to crack, and able to cause harm if necessary. Johnson first got his career started in wrestling, where his competitive nature pushed him to the top. With a business savvy brain, Johnson learned all he could from his wrestling family members, and then stepped into the acting world. He is charismatic, hard working, and we know nothing will stop this determined man.
19. J.K. Rowling
Rowling has even said it herself, she is 100% Gryffindor. As a single, dirt-poor struggling mother, Rowling pushed her writing to create this incredible series we are all so obsessed with. She never let opposition stand in her way. She claims she can be a bit of a show off, but I don't mind it at all! Especially all the witty comments she makes on Twitter, she can be as flashy as she wants, any day of the week.
Whether you are brave, intelligent, loyal and just, or cunning to help get what you want, it is an honor to be a Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, or a Hufflepuff.
It may be thirteen years later, but I am still hopeful that I'll one day get an owl delivering my acceptance letter into Hogwarts. Then one day it will be me under that sorting hat.
